Russia to Arm Taliban ?

RT reports:

Quote
US Defense Secretary Jim Mattis has said that Washington “will confront Russia” after a top US military commander claimed Moscow is “sending weapons” to the Taliban. No specifics or evidence were provided to support the claims which Moscow has previously denied.

No evidence provided. But of course. This is the modus operandi of the United States—from the sinking of the Maine to the Gulf of Tonkin and Saddam’s fictitious weapons of mass destruction.

It’s ironic, though.

The CIA built up the Afghan Mujahideen to fight the Soviets. Elements of the Mujahideen became al-Qaeda and the Taliban.

Now the shoe is on the other foot.

Quote
Speaking at a joint press conference with Mattis in the Afghan capital of Kabul on Monday, the head of the US and international forces in Afghanistan, General John Nicholson said the US “continue to get reports of this [Russia’s] assistance” to Taliban insurgents.

The NATO commander, who Mattis praised as “one of our most experienced officers in the field and one of our most serious strategic thinkers,” was asked “to address the influx of Russian weapons into Afghanistan and showing up in Taliban hands” by a journalist from the Washington Post.

The Washington Post is the crown jewel of the CIA’s Operation Mockingbird.

Quote
The general didn’t exactly answer the question of what the Pentagon was “going to do to stop the Russians from sending these weapons,” but said he was “not refuting” the accusation.

Of course, he wouldn’t refute it, that would go against the script. A lot effort has been put into the effort to demonize Russia. Providing the Taliban with the means to kill US soldiers… priceless.

Mad Dog tried to sound reasonable. First the diplomatic stick, and then confrontation.

Quote
Addressing the issue at the briefing, Mattis said Washington “will engage with Russia diplomatically,” and is “going to have to confront Russia, where what they’re doing is contradictory to international law or denying the sovereignty of other countries.”

International law?

Did Mad Dog consult his friend, Paul Wolfowitz?

The invasion of Afghanistan by the United States in 2001 was illegal under international law.

UN Security Council resolution 1273 did not authorize the invasion. Freezing assets, criminalizing the support of terrorists, exchanging police information about terrorists, and prosecuting terrorists are mentioned but not the invasion.

“This war has been illegal, moreover, not only under international law, but also under US law. The UN Charter is a treaty, which was ratified by the United States, and, according to Article VI of the US Constitution, any treaty ratified by the United States is part of the “supreme law of the land.” The war in Afghanistan, therefore, has from the beginning been in violation of US as well as international law. It could not be more illegal,” writes David Ray Griffin.

RT again:

Quote
“Any weapons being funneled here from a foreign country would be a violation of international law,” the US Defense Secretary, who is in Afghanistan to talk to President Ghani and his ministers “directly and at length” after President Trump “directed a review of [US] policy in Afghanistan,” added.

No mention of the weapons funneled into Afghanistan in the 1980s by the CIA with lavish Saudi funding.

But then, of course, the US is the exceptional nation.

Trump demonstrated this when he bombed Syria. Not only did he (or rather his generals) not go to the United Nations, he didn’t bother to consult Congress as stipulated by the Constitution.

And he probably won’t consult with Congress when he throws more soldiers into Afghanistan following the slaughter of more than 100 soldiers by the Taliban in the northern Balkh province late last week.

Correct.

Deeper thought.

This kind of idiot bashing Russia  is part of the reason people did not want Hillary.

Its an example that no matter who people elect, the New World Order wins.
