‘US escalates war rhetoric with N. Korea, needs to go opposite direction’

Instead of escalating the war rhetoric the US government needs to resume bilateral talks with North Korea or the Six-Party Talks to lead to a peaceful resolution in the Korean peninsula, says Brian Becker of the ANSWER coalition.

Why are parts made in Britain STILL turning up in North Korean missiles?
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4436180/Why-UK-parts-turning-Korean-missiles.html

Parts of a North Korean rocket that crashed into the sea last year were made in Britain, The Mail on Sunday can reveal. The discovery was made by United Nations scientists who carried out a forensic study of the wreckage recovered from the Sea of Japan in February 2016. The UN also traced the sale of the equipment – listed in the UN report as ‘100 bar pressure transmitters’ – from the UK to North Korea.

A UN report revealed the series of transactions which took place before the parts turned up in the rogue state, where they were added to the Unha-3 rocket. It read: ‘The pressure transmitters were manufactured in the UK. They were then sold by the manufacturer’s distributor in China to a Beijing-based company, which sold them on to Beijing Xinjianteng Century Technical Technology.

North Korea’s nuclear HQ... in leafy London suburbia:
Under the noses of spooks, this house has helped fund Kim's missiles for TEN years

By Mark Nicol and Michael Powell for The Mail on Sunday
Published: 22:24, 22 April 2017 | Updated: 12:21, 23 April 2017

North Korea’s nuclear weapons programme has been secretly funded to the tune of tens of millions of pounds from a detached house in a leafy London suburb.

Officials from the pariah state have bankrolled the development of its deadly nuclear arsenal from the anonymous looking property for more than a decade – under the noses of Scotland Yard and the security services.

An investigation by The Mail on Sunday has discovered that up to £33 million a year has been funnelled through an apparently innocuous insurance company based at the home in Blackheath, South East London, but controlled directly by Kim Jong Un and his father Kim Jong Il’s dictatorial regimes.

It is possible that the New World Order might finally play the N.Korean Card . . .
After all, they reserved the Bin Laden Card for many years before allowing Obama to play that card . . . .

I have taken a slightly different position simply because of the historical pattern of using N.Korea as the proverbial Rent-A-Boogeyman.

But, as qualified above, that does not exclude the New World Order deciding to dispose of yet another Boogeyman.

According to South Korea's Yonhap news agency, the U.S. military has started moving equipments of the controversial THAAD anti-missile defense system into its planned deployment site in South Korea.

The positioning began early Wednesday morning at the Sungju golf club in Sungju County of South Korea, where trailer trucks carrying parts of the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) system entered the site on what had been a golf course.

GlobalTimes China
Trump cannot alienate China-Russia ties
http://www.globaltimes.cn/content/1044073.shtml

By Cui Heng Source:Global Times Published: 2017/4/25 20:13:39

Since taking office, US President Donald Trump has been attempting to adjust the relationship among China, the US and Russia. He claimed earlier on his campaign trail that it is China, rather than Russia, that is the principal threat to the US, and Washington should improve ties with Moscow. Trump's foreign policy is not only about adjusting the US-Russia relationship, but more about changing the world order formed under the presidency of his predecessors, George W. Bush and Barack Obama, where China and Russia strategically supported each other to balance the US.

After the resignation of Trump's national security adviser Michael Flynn, the Trump team has been cautious about its contacts with Russia. Trump's recent meeting with his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping, airstrikes in Syria and the North Korean nuclear issue demonstrate that the Trump administration, finding it hard to rapidly improve Washington-Moscow ties, is attempting to drive a wedge between Beijing and Moscow. Trump's abundant experiences accumulated from over 30 years of commercial wars are reflected in his handling of foreign affairs.

It has to be admitted that Trump's recent actions have alarmed Chinese and Russian elites. Known for his unpredictability, Trump is an unusual political leader that does not act in accordance with the existing rules of the current political system.

The US raided Syria during Trump's meeting with Xi, leaving a false impression on Moscow that Beijing and Washington reached a consensus on the Syrian issue; it was widely reported that the US aircraft carrier strike group was deployed to the Korean Peninsula during US State Secretary Rex Tillerson's Moscow visit, leaving Beijing to think that Moscow and Washington clinched a deal on the Pyongyang issue.

Trump's business skills have permeated his political decisions. He attempts to sow dissension in the Beijing-Moscow relationship by deliberately creating a false notion that China and Russia have respective deals with the US on sensitive issues. In the meantime, the US' media outlets and elites have seized the chance to hype up the potential disputes between China and Russia. US National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster claimed earlier that China helped the US to isolate Russia and Bolivia over the Syrian issue.

Fomenting dissension is a common tactic in the history of international relations. The US government has used it on the Beijing-Moscow relationship several times since the end of the Cold War.

For instance, US academics trumpet that China's One Belt and One Road initiative is a challenge to Russia's influence in Central Asia. However, Washington's instigation failed to upset the Beijing-Moscow relationship. Instead, it has provided an opportunity for the two countries to strengthen their strategic collaborations. China and Russia announced cooperation between the Belt and Road initiative and the Eurasian Economic Union.

Trump has not realized that the Beijing-Moscow relationship goes beyond previous power politics. According to the theory of realism, the foundation of China-Russia cooperation is to counter the US global dominance and if the US pressure vanishes, this bilateral cooperation will break up. However, it ignores the fact that China and Russia have forged a highly trustworthy and mutually dependent relationship through more than 10 years of strategic interactions.

Regarding the Syrian and North Korean issues, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi communicated with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov to ensure collaborations. There is no need to make a fuss about China's abstention on the UN resolution to condemn Syria's chemical attack. It is not unusual that Beijing and Moscow, with different cognitions and interests, have conflicting views on the Syrian crisis. But the two countries maintained an overall strategic collaboration on the issue.

The Sino-Russian ties have surpassed ordinary power relationship, and are consolidated based on the common cognitions on civilization, international order and people's demands. Both countries emphasize the significance of establishing a community with a common destiny, advocate democracy in governance structure, oppose to Western dominance on international affairs, and are dedicated to reforming the post-Cold War international order.

For Beijing and Moscow, both at the crucial stage of rejuvenation, people's wellbeing is equated to economic development and fast-growing comprehensive strength. Based on common cognitions and experiences of strategic interactions, China and Russia have realized strategic mutual trust amid the chaotic power games.

The US and South Korea said on Monday that they would tolerate no more missile or nuclear tests from North Korea, with US Vice President Mike Pence warning Pyongyang not to test the resolve of President Donald Trump.

Analysts believe the comments put pressure on Beijing to take a tougher stance against Pyongyang.

Pence and acting South Korean president Hwang Kyo-ahn met on Monday, vowing to move ahead with the early deployment of the THAAD missile defense system, and that neither the US nor South Korea would tolerate further missile and nuclear tests, Reuters reported on Monday.

"Just in the past two weeks, the world witnessed the strength and resolve of our new president in actions taken in Syria and Afghanistan. North Korea would do well not to test his resolve or the strength of the armed forces of the US in this region," Pence said, noting that the US Navy struck a Syrian airfield with 59 Tomahawk missiles this month.

"Pence wanted to deliver a message to North Korea that it would use every means, including military ones, to crack down on its nuclear and related facilities," Liu Weidong, a research fellow at the Institute of American Studies of the China Academy of Social Sciences, told the Global Times.

Liu said this is the US' toughest attitude so far.

"The US also wants to pressure China to cooperate on North Korea by showing its muscle. It will urge China to strengthen supervision or even cut oil and food aid," Liu said.

China's foreign ministry said on Monday that China would like to cooperate with all parties, including the US, to realize the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula and safeguard regional peace through negotiations.

"But China may reconsider some of its previous policies on North Korea when it involves Sino-US relations and the future impact of North Korea's nuclear tests on China, as well as the deployment of THAAD," Liu said.

North Korea's nuclear tests have triggered concern among Chinese netizens, especially for those who live near the border.

A man surnamed Zhang from Dandong, Liaoning Province told the Global Times that he is worried about a possible war on the Korean Peninsula and refugees.

Touch-and-go situation

In a visit to the demilitarized zone (DMZ) between North and South Korea on Monday, Pence also said that "all options are on the table to achieve the objectives and ensure the stability of the people of this country," and "there was a period of strategic patience, but the era of strategic patience is over."

Pence's remarks came one day after North Korea tested an unidentified missile early on Sunday from the coastal city of Sinpo, with the Pentagon confirming that it had failed, the Xinhua News Agency reported.

Trump's national security adviser, H.R. McMaster, indicated on Sunday that Trump was not considering military action against North Korea for now, even as a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier strike group was heading for the region, Reuters reported.

"The US military threat may bring a tough response from North Korea," Lü Chao, a research fellow at the Liaoning Academy of Social Sciences, told the Global Times. He noted that the military parade on Saturday and a possible nuclear test on April 24 or 25 might reflect North Korea's attitude.

Yonhap News reported on Friday that North Korea will mark the 85th anniversary of the military's founding on April 25, "a possible occasion for a provocative act."

"If North Korea launches a new round of nuclear tests, it will give the US an excuse to strike as well as condemnation from the international community and opposition from China and Russia," Lü said.

"Pence's visit is also aimed at pacifying South Korea. South Koreans have been worried about a possible war when the US made military threats in response to North Korea's continuing nuclear tests," Liu said.

Jitters

On Monday, a plane that was supposed to leave Pyongyang at 8.30 am for Beijing was delayed 10 hours.

An anonymous North Korean official who stayed with foreign media and visitors at the airport told the Global Times that more than 20 reporters were stuck at the airport and bad weather had delayed flights.

The North Korean government invited the foreign press to cover the Day of the Sun, the birth anniversary of Kim Il-sung.

A Global Times reporter saw stranded passengers at the airport becoming nervous especially after the monitor displaying boarding information suddenly went blank at 4:40 pm.

A Chinese Embassy official in Pyongyang told the Global Times flights are always delayed, and that there was no reason for concern.

Looks like if N.Korea attempts another test missile launch, or its claimed they tried another launch - that Trump will strike N.Korea.

The diplomatic language is indicating China has reconsidered, which puts N.Korea in real peril...
Can't imagine N.Korea launching a test, but I can sure imagine them claiming he did - which nobody would really question.

But anything really worth hitting is in underground bunkers, built specifically to protect against the likes of Trump. Dread to think what sort of toys will be used.

It looks like China is pulling the plug in exchange for possibly trade and or the South China Sea . . . what a world.

Japan continues to find North Korea USEFUL TOOL.

Japan has been slowly removing the restraints imposed at the end of World War 2, for which North Korea provides an ever convenient excuse. Japan continues to stretch the envelope, build Aircraft Carriers that it claims are not Aircraft Carriers . . . Now it wants Tomahawk Cruise Missiles

Aircraft Carriers and Cruise Missiles are for projecting power, they are not a defensive weapon.

Japan is incrementaly trying to escape from Occupation By America.

Readers note that while it was The Allies that defeated Japan, America decided that only it had the right to enter and occupy Japan at the end of World War 2.

Sources claim prime minister Shinzo Abe wants to send a message to Kim Jong-un by snapping up the BGM-109 Tomahawks. It is hoped the 18-foot missiles – which can destroy targets 900 miles away – will stop the despot carrying out more nuclear tests. They could be deployed on the country's Aegis destroyers, which can carry up to 90 Tomahawk cruise missiles.

The United States was initially cautious about Tokyo acquiring Tomahawks, according to local media. But its stance has shifted dramatically as tensions with North Korea continue to grow – sparking fears of an all-out global conflict. During a phone call with Mr Abe last month, Donald Trump insisted the US will "strengthen its ability to defend itself and its allies".

What If Everything We’re Being Told About U.S.-North Korea Tensions Is Wrong?

Ask and you shall receive. For weeks upon weeks on end, the American populace has watched Donald Trump and his administration, along with pundits in the corporate media, drone on about how China should step up its game in the effort to thwart North Korea’s nuclear ambitions. From the Washington Post on Tuesday:

A North Korean delegation will attend a large multilateral economic summit in Beijing next week, China’s Foreign Ministry announced Tuesday, underlining its reluctance to join American efforts to completely isolate the regime in Pyongyang.

The problem, of course, is that this isn’t the sanctioned tactic. When Trump and his crew said they wanted China to step up on North Korea, what they meant was they wanted China to join in on the sanctions and the international condemnation — in other words, the demonization of Kim Jong-un.

Take, for instance, the reaction of former vice president Joe Biden’s deputy national security advisor, Ely Ratnor, to news of China’s invitation to North Korea.

“Beijing publicly taking foot off gas on pressuring North Korea. Is this what Trump means when he says Xi is ‘doing an amazing job as a leader’?” Ratnor wrote on Twitter Tuesday.

Ratnor failed to note, however, that China has publicly stated all along that trying to muscle out Kim’s regime is the absolute wrong strategy, and that the diplomatic approach is the way to go.

And China isn’t alone.

Even among U.S. allies in the region, diplomatic negotiation is preferable to military confrontation. As of Tuesday, South Korea has a new president, Moon Jae-in, and he’s a man who agrees with China that the U.S. should back off with the warships and allow discussions to resume.

In fact, Moon says that under his leadership, South Korea should be the party leading talks with its neighbor to the north. It should also be noted that both Moon and China’s President Xi Jinping have said negotiations with North Korea will end before they even begin if the Hermit Kingdom doesn’t first agree to certain concessions on its nuclear program.

So here we have a global superpower offering an olive branch via an invitation to an economic summit and a new regional leader who has said, in effect, that his country is willing to take the responsibility of de-escalating tensions.

One might be forgiven for thinking the U.S. presence in Asia is no longer needed, even in the context of the mainstream narrative that’s been splashing across news feeds for those previously mentioned weeks upon weeks.

But the warships will stay. The aircraft carriers will stay. The joint annual military drills with allies in the region will continue. And the United States, as Donald Trump himself has said, will have a strong presence in Asia for a very long time.

The reason for this has perhaps been there, in plain sight, all along — the Belt and Road Initiative.

This grand undertaking, birthed and led by China, is a push to create a permanent trade route connecting China, Africa, and Europe. Infrastructure investment alone would be worth billions, and it doesn’t require much of an imagination to envision the type of vibrant economic zones that would crop up under that level of international cooperation.

On that front, China has said any nation can contribute to the future prosperity of the “One Belt, One Road” initiative. But leave the foolishness at home. It’s about commerce, China says, and peaceful exchange.

And it means any nation. It proved that Tuesday because the economic summit China just invited North Korea to is the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation.

That’s the olive branch China just extended to Kim Jong-un. It’s saying North Korea, even under the Kim regime, can get in on the action. But again, as with any other nation, the country would first have to knock off the antics.

Perhaps Donald Trump saw this all along. Perhaps that’s what’s been behind all his fiery China rhetoric from the beginning. The Belt and Road Initiative, after all, has been in the works since 2013. And the Donald, first and foremost, is a businessman.

Maybe he sensed it all was inevitable, that the Initiative would be a success, and that in the not-too-distant future there would be a rich, competing trade route established in a far-off part of the world — a notion that would spark jealousy in the heart of even the feeblest of money grubbers.

So maybe he never had any intention of having his military fire on North Korea. Maybe he’s not concerned about the country’s nuclear weapons at all. Maybe it was all just an excuse to build up military hardware in the waters of East and Southeast Asia.

That’s the extreme eastern leg of this new “Silk Road” proposed by China. Ships would sail straight through the South China Sea, where China has built artificial islands and fortified them with military hardware. Smart thinking, some might say, if you’re providing security for trillions of dollars’ worth of goods being shipped through those waters.

Maybe all this North Korea craziness was always just a rouse to establish military muscle — again, for the long-term — in a region where a whole lot of dollars could soon be flowing. Recall that staunch ally Japan is right there with one of the world’s most powerful navies.

Perhaps all this was just the United States forcing its way into a physical seat at the Silk Road table and saying to all parties involved that America refuses to be cut, quite literally, out of the loop.

That reality, such as it is, would certainly be preferable to the alternative — which, if taken to its inevitable conclusion, would almost guarantee bloodshed.

BREAKING NEWS: Putin tells the West to 'stop intimidating NORTH KOREA': Astonishing comment just hours after Kim Jong-un launches 'nuclear-capable' missile
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4506816/Putin-calls-end-intimidation-North-Korea.html

Russian President Vladimir Putin has told world leaders to stop 'intimidating' North Korea following the dictatorship's latest missile test. Putin said attempts to bully Kim Jong-un's regime were 'unacceptable', though he admitted the missile test was equally wrong.  America and South Korea led calls for fresh sanctions after Kim tested a newly developed Hwasong-12 ballistic missile on Sunday, which the dictator claimed was capable of carrying a nuclear warhead to the US.

North Korea's new intermediate-range ballistic missile was successfully tested on Sunday and should now be “rapidly” mass-produced, Kim Jong-un, the country’s supreme leader has said, according to state media.

The latest test confirmed the reliable late-stage guidance of the Pukguksong-2 missile’s warhead and the functioning of its solid-fuel engine, the KCNA state news agency said.

Kim Jong-un supervised the launch and expressed “great satisfaction” over its results.
