Tommy Robinson, former EDL leader, jailed for fraud

23 January 2014
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-25862838

Former English Defence League leader Tommy Robinson, whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, has been jailed for 18 months for mortgage fraud.

Robinson, 31, from Bedfordshire, who stood down from the EDL last year, was sentenced at St Albans Crown Court after pleading guilty last November.

The fraud amounted to £160,000 over a period of six months.

Robinson left the EDL in October, citing concerns over the "dangers of far-right extremism".

The court was told his life was in danger, and he would have to spend his prison time in solitary confinement.

His barrister Charles Sherrard QC said that in January 2013, when Robinson was jailed for 10 months for using someone else's passport to travel to the USA, he had spent the whole time in solitary and was moved to four different jails for his safety.

Wanted by al-Shabab'

"Even in solitary he was regarded as being in danger," said Mr Sherrard.

Robinson co-founded the EDL in 2009 after a parade by the Royal Anglian Regiment in Luton was disrupted by Islamist protesters.

Mr Sherrard said Robinson was in even more danger now, having left the organisation.

"He has alienated another large part of the community who saw him as their leader," he said.

Robinson's safety was also at risk from members of Somali insurgent group al-Shabab, he added.

"He is on a wanted list for al-Shabab so the prospect of prison for him takes on another level," said Mr Sherrard.
'Thoroughly dishonest conduct'

The court heard that Robinson's home had previously been attacked and he and his family moved to a safe house.

Robinson admitted two counts of conspiring with others to obtain a mortgage by misrepresentation from the Abbey and Halifax building societies.

Judge Andrew Bright QC described him as the "instigator, if not the architect" of some of the frauds.

Fake pay slips

Also in the dock was Steven Vowles, 26, of Bushmead, Luton, who admitted conspiring with others to obtain a mortgage by misrepresentation and transferring criminal property.

He also admitted possessing 3.48 grams of cocaine with intent to supply and being concerned in the supply of class A drugs.

Lisa Moore, 28, of Silsoe, Bedfordshire, admitted conspiracy to obtain a mortgage by fraudulent misrepresentation.

Rothschild, 44, of Toddington, Bedfordshire, admitted four charges of conspiring to commit fraud by false representation.

A cousin of Robinson, Anjee Darcy, 31, of Hardwick Green, Luton, admitted two offences of conspiring to commit fraud by misrepresentation and false accounting.

Rothschild assisted Moore, Vowles and Darcy in their fraudulent applications by providing fake pay slips and income details.

The fraudulent mortgages she obtained came to a total of £640,000. She was jailed for 18 months.

Vowles was jailed for 27 months and Darcy was given a 15-month sentence, suspended for 18 months, and ordered to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work.

Moore was given a six-month sentence, suspended for 18 months. She was also ordered to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work and pay costs of £1,500.

Tommy Robinson: Stephen Yaxley-Lennon Explains The Making Of An Alter-Ego Even His Wife Can’t Stand
http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2015/12/10/stephen-yaxley-lennon-describes-the-making-of-tommy-robinson_n_8747794.html

Quote
September 2012 Robinson pretended to be Andrew McMaster – a friend he bore some resemblance to – so he could illegally enter the US. He can’t travel there because he’s been convicted of possessing a Class A drug.

Quote
The real Tommy Robinson is a former top-boy football hooligan with the Luton Town MIGs who later wrote two books about his 25-years of supporting his team with his fists. A career noteworthy enough to see Britain’s most dangerous prisoner, Charles Bronson, write the foreword for one of them.

“I used (Tommy’s name) due to the influence of a poisonous uncle I had, who were jealous of Tommy his whole life. And it was his influence telling me, when I was using different names (they included Mikey and Wayne King – “it sounds like wanking, when you say it. Victoria Derbyshire introduced me, ‘now we have Wayne King’, and I was cracking up” Robinson explained). He was like, ‘use Tommy Robinson, use Tommy Robinson, it will get all the heat on him’.

“I shouldn’t of done it.”

Quote
A more fitting title perhaps may have been the ‘Enemy Within’, as Robinson, rather than the state, has dismantled his own life - kicking it off by slamming his foot into a cop’s head at 21, ending a career that had barely started after a five-year apprenticeship.

Quote
“I’m honest. I’ve always gotten, I’ve always gotten borderline, into scraps and that as a youth. It’s just the truth,” Robinson offers, when asked about his propensity for violence.

“I was sort of elevated... when I was growing up a lot of my family was involved in football hooliganism. So, like the people I was looking up to, like my cousins, were pretty instrumental in Luton’s football hooliganism scene.”

The officer had come to the rescue of Robinson’s then girlfriend - now wife (who he asked the Huffington Post UK not to name as it would “endanger her and my kids”). The couple were “drunk arguing” at 3am. The cop wanted to walk Robinson’s girlfriend home.

Robinson: “I was being heated, and arguing, but I’ve never, ever, ever, ever, ever assaulted my missus and my wife. So I’m like, ‘f**K off man, what-you-talking-about’.”

At that point Robinson said the officer “rugby tackled him” to the floor.

“I’m a young 23, 21-year-old lad and I’m pissed up, like to fight, and we’re fighting, so I started fighting him, and when he’s gone down to the floor.”

Speaking in a low-voice now: “I’ve kicked him in the head.” The officer told the court he showed Robinson his badge. Robinson says the officer made that up to “cover his own ass, cause he’s a copper. Fucker.”

Quote
That year Robinson, reportedly joined the British National Party, having earlier been a member of the British Freedom Party, and staged his first rally in Luton. Leaflets handed out mainly concerned claims a Muslim gang called the Gambinos were selling heroin from chicken shops - which he said police were ignoring. He linked the narcotic to radical extremists, and also warned of “all the things the EDL has said ever since”.

Robinson, who by his own admission has “lots of mates involved in crime”, said the focus on heroin was not a push to protect friends’ turf.

“If one of the lads started selling that (heroin) you’d get smacked up, because you’re not selling that. It’s fucking destroying the whole place. Its a whole different ball game.” Heroin, he claims is a “Muslim drug”. Cocaine, “no one gives a f**K about”.

Quote
By 2007 Robinson, now a father-of-one, had two businesses - plumbing and a sun bed shop – and an expanding portfolio of rentals. A property developer mate from Milton Keynes, “who had the property market sewn up, gave me some backhanders” - properties repossessed from the bank, which Robinson bought cheap, renovated, and rented out. He claims to have owned seven. The solarium was in a vacant unit Robinson rented from the developer.

Quote
Six months later, in September 2010, Robinson’s wife was arrested for tax evasion and money laundering. “Over-night every debit card was cancelled and my bank account was closed until two months ago (October, 2015),” Robinson said.

Former EDL leader Tommy Robinson sent to jail for mortgage fraud.
https://edlcriminals.com/2014/01/23/former-edl-leader-tommy-robinson-sent-to-jail-for-mortgage-fraud/

THE former leader of the English Defence League has been jailed for 18-months for mortgage fraud.

Lennon, 31, also known as Tommy Robinson and the founder of the EDL, was imprisoned for his part in a conspiracy to fraudulently obtain two mortgages amounting to £162,000.

He made two loans to people wanting to buy property and then pointed them towards a bent woman mortgage broker who helped obtain phoney pay slips and income details.

Before he was led off to start his prison sentence, the court heard the 31 year-old father of three will have to spend his time in custody in solitary confinement because he is now in danger.

His barrister Charles Sherrard QC said that in January 2013 when the Yaxley-Lennon was jailed for 10 month for using someone else’s passport to travel to the USA he had spent the whole time in solitary and was moved to four different jails for his safety.

“Even in solitary he was regarded as being in danger,” said Mr Sharrard.

However, it emerged in court today, that since last autumn when he announced he had left the EDL, citing increasingly racist elements within the group, he has now been alienated by the followers in the organisation he once led.

Yaxley-Lennon founded the EDL in 2009 after five Muslim men demonstrated in Luton against a homecoming parade by the Royal Anglian Regiment.

Mr Sherrard said that “He has alienated another large part of the community who saw him as their leader”

That meant, said the barrister, that Yaxley-Lennon would again have to spend his time away from other prisoners.

“He is on a wanted list for Al-Shabab so the prospect of prison for him takes on another level,” said Mr Sherrard.

The court heard how in the past while still the leader of the EDL Yaxley-Lennon’s home had been attacked and he and his family moved to a safe house.

Today at St Albans Crown Court he appeared for sentence having earlier pleaded guilty to mortgage fraud offences.

He pleaded guilty to two counts of conspiring with others to obtain a mortgage by misrepresentation from the Abbey and Halifax building societies.

Judge Andrew Bright QC hearing the case described Yaxley Lennon as the “instigator if not the architect” of some of the frauds.

Passing sentence the judge told him “This was an operation which was fraudulent from the outset and involved a significant amount of forward planning.

Yaxley-Lennon will serve half the 18 month sentence behind bars before he is released.

He described the former EDL leader as a “fixer” by introducing others to bent mortgage broker Deborah Rothschild.

“I am satisfied you took part in a thoroughly dishonest course of conduct.”

The judge said he realised that any prison sentence he passed would be much harder for “Yaxley-Lennon” because of the need to protect him and the fact that he will have to serve it in solitary confinement.

Since leaving the EDL Yaxley Lennon has been travelling around the country with other community leaders promoting cohesion between communities.

On Monday he had been due to attend a Holocaust Memorial Day in Ipswich.

With him in the dock was Steven Vowles 26 of Heron Drive, Bushmead, Luton who admitted conspiring with others to obtain a mortgage by misrepresentation and transferring criminal property.

He also admitted possessing 3.48 grams of cocaine with intent to supply and being concerned in the supply of class A drugs.

Vowles had been a one time apprentice at Yaxley-Lennon’s plumbing business.

Lisa Moore 28 of Newbury Lane, Silsoe, Bedfordshire pleaded guilty to conspiracy to obtain a mortgage by fraudulent misrepresentation.

Mortgage Broker Deborah Rothschild, 44, of Poplar, Toddington, Bedfordshire, pleaded guilty to four charges of conspiring to commit fraud by false representation. The charges involved the obtaining of four mortgages.

Finally a cousin of Yaxley-Lennon, Anjee Darcy, 31, of Hardwick Green, Luton pleaded guilty to two offences of conspiring to commit fraud by misrepresentation and false accounting.

Judge Andrew Bright QC was told how Yaxley-Lennon loans totaling £40,000 to Vowles and later Moore to help them with the deposits for a property in Luton.

But he also introduced them to crooked mortgage broke Deborah Rothschild who specialised in helping people obtain a mortgage who wouldn’t normally be eligible because of insufficient income and capital.

Rothschild the mother of a two year-old son assisted Moore, Vowles and Darcy in their fraudulent applications by providing phoney pay slips and income details.

The fraudulent mortgages she obtain came to a total of £640,000.

She was jailed for 18 months, Vowles was jailed for 27 months and Darcy was given a 15 month sentence suspended for 18 months and told she must carry out 200 hours of unpaid work.

Moore was given a six month prison sentence suspended for 18 months and told she must carry out 100 hours of unpaid work and pay costs of £1,500.

Five sentenced for mortgage fraud - Herts

24/01/2014
http://www.cps.gov.uk/thames_chiltern/cps_thames_and_chiltern_news/five_sentenced_for_mortgagae_fraud___herts/

Five people were sentenced at St Albans Crown Court yesterday, Thursday, 24 January 2014, in a mortgage fraud case.

The five, including corrupt mortgage broker Deborah Rothschild, were involved in a complicated conspiracy to acquire properties using various fraudulent means.

All five had pleaded guilty at earlier hearings to fraud offences, mostly of committing fraud by false representation. Yesterday three were sentenced by Judge Bright QC at St Albans Crown Court to prison and others to suspended sentences.

Stephen Yaxley Lennon, aged 31, from Bedfordshire, pleaded guilty to two counts of conspiracy to commit fraud by misrepresentation and was sentenced to eighteen months in prison.

Steven Vowles, aged 26, of Heron Drive, Luton, pleaded guilty to committing fraud by false representation and transferring criminal property.  He had also earlier pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine and being concerned in the supply of class A drugs.  He was sentenced to six months imprisonment for the fraud offences and 21 months for the drugs offences,  making a total of 27 months imprisonment.

Anjee Darcy, aged 31, of Hardwick Green, Luton, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit fraud by false representation, false accounting and fraud by false  representation. She was sentenced to 15 months imprisonment suspended for 18 months,  and ordered to complete 200 hours of unpaid work.

Mortgage broker,  Deborah Rothschild, aged 42, Park Road, Toddington, pleaded guilty to four counts of committing fraud by false representation. She was sentenced to 18 months imprisonment for her part in facilitating the fraudulent mortgages.

Lisa Moore, aged 27, of Newbury Close Silsoe, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit fraud by false representation. She was sentenced to six months imprisonment suspended for 18 months, ordered to complete 100 hours of unpaid work, and pay £1500 costs.

Other charges were ordered to lie on file. Charges of cheating the revenue against Lennon and his wife were not proceeded with through the criminal justice system. This will now be handled by HM Revenue and Customs to pursue through civil processes.

On 26 January 2009, a bungalow at Bletchley owned by Lennon was sold to Anjee Darcy, who on the same day used the bungalow as a deposit to buy a £500,000 house in Watford. She could only afford the mortgage by using a fraudulent application to The Abbey facilitated by Rothschild. Darcy and Rothschild used false pay slips to support the application.

Further associate members of the group went on to purchase properties with deposits on occasions provided by Lennon and with mortgages fraudulently brokered by Rothschild.

The defendants have assets already under restraint by the courts and now the Crown will proceed with confiscation applications under the Proceeds of Crime Act. This means assets and money gained by criminal means can be taken by the state and returned to the taxpayer.

This guy is a wannabe football hooligan, and a wannabe generally - he renamed himself after the guy who ran the 'MIG Crew' hooligan outfit in Luton. Who does that? A miserable and pathetic tool and waste of space like Stephen Lennon is who does that. The real Tommy Robinson is this charming looking fellow:

Hang on . .

Tommy Robinson has been convicted of conspiracy, in a court of law, with one Deborah Rothschild.

Infowars and Waston have choosen to be associated a phreakin violent football hooligan connected to The Rothschilds.

How much worse can this get ?

Surely its intended to implode at some point, like something worse than Finsbury Park.

He sounds like a sociopath. Probably narcissistic sociopath - the penchant for violence, criminality, using different names, and clearly a grandiose view of himself. Jesus. Someone you probably don't want on your media team...

Former EDL leader Tommy Robinson has been filmed repeatedly punching a man in a Royal Ascot car park - but he claimed it was done in 'self-defence.'  The right-wing commentator had been at Ascot yesterday when dashcam footage from a coach in a car park showed him appear to push the man to the ground. Robinson, wearing a black suit and shirt, is then seen throwing seven punches towards the man's head before three other men step in to separate the pair.

The incident is reported to have happened just after 7pm last night.

A police complaint has not yet been made against Robinson - real name is Stephen Christopher Yaxley-Lennon - and the other man in the altercation has not yet been identified. Assed Baig, who was given the video, said he was told that 'the other person was not aggressive'. He said: 'A witness told me that Tommy Robinson threw the first punch after a verbal with the man.'

An onlooker described the moment they saw Robinson punch the man at Ascot racecourse.

The witness whose dash cam footage it was said: 'It started by the door of the coach, the first couple of punches by Tommy, that's why you see the other bloke fall in front of the coach. 'But the other bloke was speaking to him and Tommy didn't like what he said. Tommy was telling him to go away, basically f*** off.

'Tommy had clinched his fists was trying to make prove a point. The other person was drunk but not aggressive just talking not shouting. Tommy threw the first punch.'

Robinson, 34, tweeted a statement on Sunday that he had been acting in 'self defence'. He said: 'This is regarding an edited video being shared online regarding Tommy. 'Tommy was at the races with his wife. This man followed them both to their coach abusing them.

'Tommy and his wife went to board the coach but the man was not finished he attacked Tommy and dragged tommy (sic) from the coach. 'The man followed, instigated and attacked Tommy when he was with his wife. Tommy acted in self defence.' After the statement, he then made a number of tweets claiming the 'coach drivers a muslim' and 'Is your witness a Muslim who had already had words with Tommy?'

Earlier yesterday Robinson shared a video of himself on the coach travelling to Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.

A spokeswoman for Thames Valley Police told MailOnline: 'Thames Valley Police is aware of a video posted online which shows an altercation taking place at Royal Ascot yesterday and officers are investigating the circumstances. 'There has not been a report to police at this stage and no arrests have been made.' Earlier this week, Robinson prompted fury after accusing the Finsbury Park Mosque of 'creating terrorists' just an hour after people were mown down outside their place of worship as they left evening prayers.

Mr Robinson said the mosque had created 'radical jihadists' and was guilty of 'promoting hate and segregation'. He also described the mosque, where hate cleric Abu Hamza once preached, as a 'centre of hate'. His comments came just one hour after at least ten people were hit by a white van near the Muslim Welfare House in north London, which is yard from the Finsbury Park Mosque. The victims were Muslims leaving late-night prayers being observed for the month of Ramadan. One person is known to have died.

Robinson founded EDL in 2009 to oppose to the spread of 'militant Islam'. He headed the right-wing group until October 2013 when he was persuaded to leave the organisation after speaking with anti-extremist think tank Quilliam. He also has a criminal record with convictions for a number of offences, including football-related violence, trying to travel on false documents and a protest against Fifa's decision to stop the England football team wearing poppies on their shirts.

Robinson now works as a journalist for The Rebel Media and owns a sunbed shop in his hometown of Luton, Beds.

Last orders! Robinson suing police after being forced out of a pub

Tommy Robinson is suing police for forcing him and his family out of a pub.

He was with his children when they were asked to leave the Hop and Grain Store in Cambridge on August 27 last year.

He claims he was turfed out of the boozer due to violent left wing groups nearby.

But police say he was asked to leave as part of a group of 18 Luton Town supporters, as the football club played Cambridge United on that day and officers wanted to stop any potential trouble.

In a new article and YouTube clip, Robinson said that 'enough is enough' after the 'police forced him out the city'.

In the clip, he says: 'I was on a family day out and came to watch the Man United game, me and my three children, it was that point 20 police officers turned up to continue their harassment and persecution.

'For years they've done it to me, but now they've changed their tactic. Now they're targeting my kids.

'My kids still have fear now, they've instilled fear in my kids. Which for me as a dad knowing that I can't do anything about it is really gut-wrenching because I protect my kids from that.

'And that's what they've done, and they've done it intentionally.'

Robinson then appears in front of Cambridge Court office with a letter and says: 'So by now, you've all seen the video and the persecution not just aimed at me but my children.

'This is a court document, a civil case to take the police to court, for the persecution of my family.'

The EDL founder is then seen taking another court document to the police station.

A Cambridgeshire Constabulary spokeswoman said: 'We have received a 'letter before action' which is currently under review and it would be inappropriate to comment further at this time.'

Who is Tommy Robinson - the former EDL leader once branded a 'bigoted lunatic'

Telegraph Reporters
20 June 2017

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/06/20/tommy-robinson/#

Tommy Robinson, 34, is the former leader of far-right group the English Defence League.

Born in Luton, he trained to become an aircraft engineer but was convicted of assaulting an off-duty police officer and was unable to return to his job in Luton Airport as a result.

His real name is Stephen Christopher Yaxley, but he has also gone by other names including Andrew McMaster and Paul Harris.

Previously a member of the BNP, he co-founded the EDL alongside Kevin Carroll in 2009 and led it until October 2013, when both left after speaking to members of counter-extremism think-tank Quilliam.

The EDL's stated aim was to "oppose the rise of radical Islam" and it predominantly operated through holding street demonstrations.

On leaving Robinson said he was concerned about the "dangers of far-right extremism".

However, in 2016 he established Pegida UK, named after the German nationalist, far-right political party Pegida.

Now an adviser to the group, he also works for The Rebel Media, a right-wing Canadian website.

In May Quilliam said he had come to its offices to "abuse and bully" staff and added that he "seems to have regressed".

In 2014 he was jailed for mortgage fraud and served almost six months in prison.

Earlier this year he was convicted of contempt of court after using a camera inside Canterbury Crown Court, receiving a suspended sentence.

Robinson is married with three children.
