ANYONE who refused to participate in this is an unsung American hero. I commend you.

Bump

The amount of coverage this got was dismal. I wonder how much of a fuss would've been made about this had it happened while Obama was president. (Not that anyone would've really done much about it anyway) The police state is well and alive; and they have eyes and ears everywhere. (No state-of-the-art technology required)

Notice that the guns were confiscated from a relative that teen did NOT live with and were locked up in the relative's home.  The relative was not involved in the plot nor was he a danger to himself or others.  Gun confiscation has begun under the guise of stopping mass shootings.  Posting two articles below about this case which sets a dangerous precedent.

Vermont Teens Planned a School Shooting So Police Confiscated a Relative’s Guns

Police, school officials avert Middlebury middle school shooting

https://addisonindependent.com/201812police-school-officials-avert-middlebury-middle-school-shooting

Quote
“You had one juvenile making a very specific threat, another juvenile who was going to provide the guns for him to carry it out,” Middlebury Police Chief Tom Hanley told the Independent on Tuesday. “There are relationship issues between all the people involved. We’re still getting through a lot of that.”

The youth who allegedly wanted to do the shooting has been placed in the custody of the Vermont Department for Children & Families and is receiving mental health counseling, while the juvenile who allegedly offered to supply the firearms is out of school and awaiting possible punishment once Middlebury police have wrapped their enquiry, which began Saturday.

It’s a case that for the first time brings an Addison County school into the agonizing conversation of school shootings, and it put into practice one of the key provisions of a much-debated gun safety law signed by Gov. Phil Scott this past spring. Middlebury police investigators successfully applied to a court officialfor an “extreme risk protection order” that allowed them to temporarily remove firearms from the home from which one of the youths was going to access guns to use in the planned shooting.

Quote
After confirming the whereabouts and establishing short-term plans for both young suspects, police turned their attention to securing their alleged source of guns.

“We executed what is called an ‘extreme risk order’ (Monday) night at a relative’s house who had all these firearms,” Hanley said. “They were locked up (in the home), but one of these kids said he had access to them and could get them. So we took advantage of that extreme risk order statute that was passed. We needed to separate the person from their ability to do this.”

Hanley on Tuesday morning wasn’t sure of the exact inventory of the more than 10 confiscated weapons, but said they largely consisted of hunting rifles and handguns. He doesn’t believe any semi-automatic assault rifles or shotguns were among the bunch.

I believe Marco Rubio is setting his sights on higher office.   This has a real chance of passing and getting signed into law.  For those who stumble unto this post and think Republicans in high positions care about your gun rights please do some research.

Marco Rubio Brings Back 'Red Flag' Bill for New Congress

https://sunshinestatenews.com/story/marco-rubio-brings-back-red-flag-bill-new-congress

On the first day of the new Congress, U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., brought back the “Extreme Risk Protection Order and Violence Prevention Act.”

On Thursday, Rubio paired up with Republican U.S. Sen. Susan Collins and independent U.S. Sen. Angus King of Maine and U.S. Sen. Jack Reed, D-RI, to reintroduce the bill which “will dedicate Department of Justice funds to incentivize states to give law enforcement the authority to prevent individuals who pose a threat to themselves or others the ability to purchase or possess firearms, while still providing due process protections.”

Rubio first unveiled the bill in March after the Parkland shooting. When he showcased the bill on Thursday, Rubio said his proposal will help protect students.

“A gun violence restraining order is one of the most effective policies we can put in place to prevent another tragedy like Parkland,” Rubio said. “We can help keep our schools and communities safe by empowering law enforcement or family members to use the judicial system to keep guns out of the hands of dangerous individuals. This idea has already proven successful in states like Florida, and it is my hope that this bill will get other states to do the same thing.”

Time to Pay Attention: Democrats and Republicans Joining Forces to Push Gun Confiscation
http://thefreethoughtproject.com/gun-confiscation-coming-to-a-police-state-near-you/

'Is gun confiscation coming to Congress?

The 2018 midterm elections produced a split Congress with Democrats gaining control of the House and Republicans gaining seats in the Senate.

The chattering DC classes are already speculating about the Democrats’ plans to subpoena Trump’s tax records and Senate Republicans’ moves to consolidate their hold of the federal judiciary. But amid the DC gossip, a new threat is being overlooked—red flag gun confiscation orders. Spam_A Spam_B The Guardian detailed House Democrats’ desire to pass gun control legislation in the upcoming Congress:

Quote
Ted Deutch, a Democratic congressman from Florida who represents Parkland, where a February school shooting left 17 dead, said this week that he expected House Democrats to focus on bills with more bipartisan support. Those measures included bump stock bans and “extreme risk protection orders”, also known as red flag laws, which give law enforcement and family members a way to petition a court to temporarily bar an unstable person from buying or owning guns.

With the cries for gun control growing stronger, the federal government may finally give in to public pressure to “do something.” Red flag laws might just be the “come together” moment establishment politicians have been looking for.

Red flag laws, or Extreme Risk Protection Orders (ERPOs), are the euphemistic label for the gun control push du jour blazing across the nation. Under red flag laws, law enforcement has the ability to confiscate an individual’s firearms if they are deemed a threat to themselves or others. A simple accusation from a family member, friend, or associate will suffice to seize someone’s firearms.

These laws, mind you, operate in complete violation of due process. Individuals can take their accusers to court even though the defendant in question has never been charged with or convicted of a crime. Additionally, the defendant could have their weapons confiscated without even so much as a hearing before a judge. It could take months before a gun owner would have to appear in court to win back his gun rights.'
