Basnan worked with Omar al Bayoumi to help the terrorists in California.

He is also registered at Falls Church Va post office box 631

Another man registered there is Ijaz Ali Khan, and he also used addresses at 3515 and 3519 Leesburg Ct.

I have noticed these addresses are behind the WAMY offices on Leesburg Pike.

This website - http://www.sperryfiles.com/corridor.shtml - profiles the address as follows:
Quote
WAMY: U.S. offices of the Saudi-based World Assembly of Muslim Youth, formerly run by Abdullah bin Laden, nephew of America's Enemy No. 1. Tucked back in the corner of the Skyline Court Professional Park at 5134 Leesburg Pike, Alexandria, Va., WAMY was recently raided by U.S. authorities. Though the Saudi-controlled enterprise -- which teaches teen-aged Muslim boys to sacrifice their lives in jihad against the infidels -- is still under federal investigation, the administration has been reluctant to freeze its assets and designate it as a terrorist entity, a move that would upset the powerful and well-connected head of the Saudi Embassy. The sensitive case is under court seal.

MAS: Around the corner from WAMY in the same non-descript office park is the unmarked national headquarters of the Muslim American Society, which investigators say is the U.S. front for the Muslim Brotherhood, an Egypt-based secret Islamic society that gave rise to Hamas, Islamic Jihad and al-Qaida. Its address is 3606 Forest Drive. Next door to MAS at 3602 Forest is the office for convicted terror conspirator Abdurahman Alamoudi's American Muslim Foundation. It too has no sign out front. Also in the same Skyline office park is the office of the Grand Mufti of the greater Washington area, Mohammed al-Hanooti, who currently leads Friday prayers at the Dar al-Hijrah Islamic Center a couple of miles north on Route 7, a large Saudi-controlled Wahhabi mosque that gave aid and comfort to some of the 9/11 hijackers. Hanooti is an unindicted co-conspirator in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing and an alleged major Hamas fund-raiser ... It is one big happy Islamist family at Skyline office park.

Post 9/11 surveillance of Anwar Aulaqi followed somebody he met with back to the WAMY offices at this address. As Aulaqi knew Basnan and co. in California, these are probably not coincidental connections.

I think Osama Basnan had something to do with WAMY.

Prince Salman inside the Saudi Defence ministry supposedly maintained an iron grip over funding of IIRO and WAMY

Quote
Opinions of Nafeez Ahmed
Wednesday 11 February 2015

When Salman bin Abdulaziz acceded to the Saudi throne late last month, Western leaders could not have rushed faster to pay him tribute. President Barack Obama even dropped his visit to India to hail the new king, who had been Saudi defence minister and deputy prime minister since 2011 under his predecessor, King Abdullah. The latest visit is from Prince Charles, who last week expressed his alarm at the extent to which young British Muslims were being drawn to extremist organisations.

“Continuity, cohesion and consolidation will be the watchwords,” predicted Ambassador Richard LeBaron, a former longtime State Department and National Security Council official who last served in government as US ambassador to Kuwait. LeBaron said that King Salman will build on the legacy of King Abdullah, which he praised in glowing language.

“One of the things that he [Abdullah] will be remembered for is his honesty, his lack of personal corruption, his devotion to education for both men and women, and his gradual opening of the country,” LeBaron added.

In this extraordinary flurry of virtually falling over themselves to find words of praise for Saudi Arabia and its new ruler, the press has overlooked the new king’s disturbing track record.

Last week, a glimpse of King Salman’s questionable history surfaced in the testimony of convicted al-Qaeda operative Zacarias Moussaoui, who claimed that members of the Saudi royal family provided extensive funding to al-Qaeda throughout the 1990s, including Prince Turki al-Faisal and Prince Bandar. Moussaoui also described “meeting in Saudi Arabia with Salman, then the crown prince, and other Saudi royals while delivering them letters from Osama bin Laden.”

According to former CIA official Bruce Riedel, Salman “oversaw the collection of private funds to support the Afghan mujahideen in the 1980s... In the early years of the war – before the US and the Kingdom ramped up their secret financial support for the anti-Soviet insurgency – this private Saudi funding was critical to the war effort. At its peak, Salman was providing $25 million a month to the mujahedeen.”

The Cold War, however, was just the beginning. Salman later played a key role in “raising money for the Bosnian Muslims in the war with Serbia,” recounts Reidel.

In 1992, Salman was appointed by King Fahd to found and head the Saudi High Commission for Aid to Bosnia (SHC), which by 2002 had delivered over $600 million in aid.

But a raid by NATO forces on SHC’s Sarajevo office shortly after 9/11 found a range of terrorist materials, including photographs and detailed maps marking government buildings in Washington, before-and-after photos of terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center, and hand-written notes of meetings with Osama bin Laden. An estimated $41 million of the SHC’s operating funds was missing.

By 1994, the National Security Agency (NSA) was listening into telephone conversations between members of the Saudi royal family. One NSA official familiar with the intercepts revealed to Pulitzer Prize winner reporter Seymour Hersh that “the intercepts show that the Saudi government, working through Prince Salman [bin Abdul Aziz], contributed millions to charities that, in turn, relayed the money to fundamentalists. ‘We knew that Salman was supporting all of the causes.’”

By 1996, the US intelligence community had amassed clear evidence that “Saudi money was supporting Osama bin Laden’s al-Qaeda and other extremist groups in Afghanistan, Lebanon, Yemen, and Central Asia, and throughout the Persian Gulf region.”

A 28 August, 2003 report of the German Federal Office of Criminal Investigation, also obtained by the lawyers, references Salman in relation to another NGO, the ‘Third World Relief Agency’ (TRWA) which was used as a conduit to covertly supply weapons to Bosnian fighters during the UN arms embargo.

In his book, Sleeping with the Devil, former CIA counter-terrorism officer, Robert Baer revealed that the IIRO had been run “with an iron hand” by then Prince Salman, who “personally approved all important appointments and spending”.

Joint Inquiry report from 2002 says:

Quote
The FBI estimates that the September 11 attacks cost $175,000 to $250,000. According to Director Mueller and Bureau documents, “the funding mechanism behind the conspiracy appears to center around Marwan al-Shehhi and individuals providing financial support primarily” through the “banking and wire service infrastructure” of the United Arab Emirates.

An interesting thing to say considering al-Shehhi was a sergeant in the UAE Army

Quote
In Hamburg, al-Shehhi received substantial transfers from the UAE by wire from Mohamed Yousef Mohamed Alqusaidi, whom the FBI believes to be al-Shehhi’s brother. In July 1999, al-Shehhi opened a checking account in the UAE and soon after granted a power of attorney over the account to Alqusaidi. From July 1999 to November 2000, about $100,000 moved through the account.

Islamic Views is an Arabic language book written by WAMY and printed by the Saudi Government's Armed Forces Printing Press. Under the heading "The Prophet asks for Jihad," Islamic Views says, "The Prophet Mohammad fought against the infidels and the Jews till he triumphed over them and conducted himself about twenty invasions and he sent tens of regiments led by his companions for Jihad Damn from Allah to the Jews who made graves of their prophets as Masjid."

Later, Islamic Views says Islam "is a religion of Jihad" and that Jihad "was an answer for the Jews, the liars. Teach our children to love taking revenge on the Jews and the oppressors, and teach them that our youngsters will liberate Palestine and al-Quds when they go back to Islam and make Jihad for the sake of Allah."

Islamic Views exhorts Muslims to wage "Jihad against the Satan," and that "You should not back the Jews and the Christians and the Communists against the Muslims; the Communists, the Infidels, the Jews, and the Christians, those who do not believe in Mohammed. You should say they are infidels."

Additionally, WAMY runs camps on six continents to recruit and teach young Muslims, and has produced a handbook entitled, Islamic Camps: Objectives, Program Outlines, Preparatory Steps, as a guide for other Muslim groups planning camps. The WAMY camp for Chechen youth run by Abdullah bin Laden in Okeechobee Florida was apparently attended by the leaders of Benevolence International, part of Osama bin Laden's Al Qaeda.

Why did Abdullah's personal assistant have the phone number of lead hijacker Atta's family in Egypt

To make it all easier for our readers.

SAAR Foundation
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SAAR_Foundation

The SAAR Foundation was a flagship corporation representing charities, think tanks, and business entities. SAAR was named after its founder, Saudi patriarch Sulaiman Abdul Aziz Al Rajhi, a man close to the Saudi ruling family and on the Golden Chain, a list of early al-Qaeda supporters.

The only person I know well, that still believes the official account does it for all the wrong reasons.

It started because they just assumed they knew better, and that I was being silly having read rubbish on the internet and that I was gullible. From that starting point this person started to argue, trying to win some competition. It did not take long before that person had invested to much effort in backing the official narrative that they got boxed into a corner.

The other part of the equation, which I find particularly annoying is the following the herd. Last year a whole group of us old friends met up, as one of our old school friends was visiting from Iceland. Anyway, late at night one of my friends brought up the subject of conspiracy theories, and my problematic friend discovered he was the only person who did not believe in conspiracy theories. The problem friend now wants to "fit in" and "change position" and its embarrassing because the only reason is peer pressure.

Anyway, sorry to rant on your serious thread.
Ooops.

Yes but is easy to disbelieve.
Arriving at the correct answer isnt easy.
Conspiracy cults, whether online or not, constitute nihilism and nothing else. They dont even believe in science.

According to the article I am reading

Funding Terrorism in Southeast Asia: The Financial Network of Al Qaeda and Jemaah Islamiya
ZACHARY ABUZA
Contemporary Southeast Asia
Vol. 25, No. 2 (August 2003), pp. 169-199

The president of WAMY is Sheikh Saleh al-Sheikh. He is also the Saudi Minister for Islamic Affairs.

That fits with the multiple phone calls from Omar al Bayoumi's phone to the Islamic Affairs office at the Saudi Embassy in the months after the hijackers arrived.

Osama Basnan, obviously, was working for Bayoumi.

On Aug. 20, 2001, Saleh Ibn Abdul Rahman Hussayen, a man who would soon be named a minister of the Saudi government and put in charge of its two holy mosques, arrived in the United States.

His journey here was to include meetings and contacts with officials of several Saudi-sponsored charities that have since been accused of links to terrorist groups, including the Illinois-based Global Relief Foundation, which was shut down by U.S. authorities last year.

Hussayen also was scheduled to meet with officials of the World Assembly of Muslim Youth (WAMY), another huge Saudi-based charity headed by the Saudi government's minister of Islamic affairs, according to sources knowledgeable about the investigation. WAMY's U.S. office on Leesburg Pike in Falls Church was incorporated by bin Laden's nephew, Abdullah bin Laden, and operated by him until the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks.

On the night of Sept. 10, 2001, Hussayen stayed at a Herndon hotel that also housed three of the Saudi hijackers who would slam an aircraft into the Pentagon the next day

Hussayen has a background in Saudi-backed charities. Virginia incorporation records show that during the 1990s, he was a director of the SAAR Foundation. Nancy Luque, attorney for two top officials of the defunct SAAR network, confirmed that a Saleh Hussayen had served as a SAAR director.
