In a much-needed bright spot for the U.S. travel industry, Poland became the 39th country to be added to the visa waiver program on Wednesday.

From Nov. 11, Polish nationals will be eligible to apply for the waiver using the Electronic System for Travel Authorization — more commonly referred to as ESTA — enabling them to visit the U.S. for 90 days without a visa.

Poland is the first nation to be added to the program since 2014, when Chile joined. Visa waivers are generally limited to countries who are considered “close allies” of the U.S. — and that reciprocate in the form of their own visa policies. In a nation with a reputation for onerous entry requirements, it has been a powerful way to attract international leisure and business travelers to the U.S.

The professors are not doing this out of ignorance. After World War II, when it became clear that Marxism could never compete with capitalism as an economic system, the radical left formulated a strategy of achieving their utopia by taking over the educational institutions and indoctrinating children with their worldview.

That would have sounded like a conspiracy theory if it hadn’t been for the fact that leftists have been open about this goal for a long time.

Whistleblower speaks to Guardian about growing alarm over secret transfer of medical history data, which can be accessed by Google staff

A whistleblower who works in Project Nightingale, the secret transfer of the personal medical data of up to 50 million Americans from one of the largest healthcare providers in the US to Google, has expressed anger to the Guardian that patients are being kept in the dark about the massive deal.

The anonymous whistleblower has posted a video on the social media platform Daily Motion that contains a document dump of hundreds of images of confidential files relating to Project Nightingale. The secret scheme, first reported by the Wall Street Journal, involves the transfer to Google of healthcare data held by Ascension, the second largest healthcare provider in the US. The data is being transferred with full personal details including name and medical history and can be accessed by Google staff. Unlike other similar efforts it has not been made anonymous though a process of removing personal information known as de-identification.

The whistleblower introduces the video with the words:
“I must speak out about the things that are going on behind the scenes.”

According to the whistleblower, the security fears raised at that meeting, including concerns that the transfer may be in breach of federal HIPAA rules on data privacy, have so far gone unanswered by Google.

UN Rapporteur on Torture Nils Melzer exposes propaganda and censorship in Assange reporting

When Nils Melzer, the UN special rapporteur on torture, issued a May 31 statement demanding an immediate end to the “collective persecution” of Julian Assange it made headlines all over the world.

Assange, Melzer wrote, “has been deliberately exposed, for a period of several years, to progressively severe forms of cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment, the cumulative effects of which can only be described as psychological torture.”


“In 20 years of work with victims of war, violence and political persecution, I have never seen a group of democratic states ganging up to deliberately isolate, demonise and abuse a single individual for such a long time and with so little regard for human dignity and the rule of law,” he added.

In the run-up to last Wednesday’s International Day in Support of Torture Victims,
Melzer wrote an op-ed titled, “Demasking the Torture of Julian Assange.”

He offered the hard-hitting piece to leading publications, including the Guardian, the Times, the Financial Times, the Sydney Morning Herald, the Australian, the Canberra Times, the Telegraph, the New York Times, the Washington Post, Thomson Reuters Foundation, and Newsweek.

All of them declined to publish, leaving Melzer, one of the world’s foremost legal experts on torture, to publish his article on the online blogging platform Medium.

Melzer told RT he had been offered various reasons by newspaper editors for rejecting his op-ed. “Some of them said it wasn’t high enough on their news agenda, some of them said it wasn’t within their core area of interest,” he said.

Expressing contempt for their excuses, Melzer noted that the same media executives had happily published stories about Assange “when it was about his cat and his skateboard and… allegations that he smeared excrement on the walls… But when you have a serious piece that actually tries to de-mask this public narrative and to actually show the facts below it, then they’re not interested.”

The “news worthiness” of Melzer’s piece—written in defence of the most famous political prisoner on the planet—is not in doubt. The rejection notices only confirm the ongoing line-up of corporate and state media outlets against a publisher who exposed what they would not: evidence of US war crimes in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Alright, I thought, but surely Assange must be a hacker! But what I found is that all his disclosures had been freely leaked to him, and that no one accuses him of having hacked a single computer. In fact, the only arguable hacking-charge against him relates to his alleged unsuccessful attempt to help breaking a password which, had it been successful, might have helped his source to cover her tracks. In short: a rather isolated, speculative, and inconsequential chain of events; a bit like trying to prosecute a driver who unsuccessfully attempted to exceed the speed-limit, but failed because their car was too weak.

Well then, I thought, at least we know for sure that Assange is a Russian spy, has interfered with US elections, and negligently caused people’s deaths! But all I found is that he consistently published true information of inherent public interest without any breach of trust, duty or allegiance. Yes, he exposed war crimes, corruption and abuse, but let’s not confuse national security with governmental impunity. Yes, the facts he disclosed empowered US voters to take more informed decisions, but isn’t that simply democracy? Yes, there are ethical discussions to be had regarding the legitimacy of unredacted disclosures. But if actual harm had really been caused, how come neither Assange nor Wikileaks ever faced related criminal charges or civil lawsuits for just compensation?

But surely, I found myself pleading, Assange must be a selfish narcissist, skateboarding through the Ecuadorian Embassy and smearing feces on the walls? Well, all I heard from Embassy staff is that the inevitable inconveniences of his accommodation at their offices were handled with mutual respect and consideration. This changed only after the election of President Moreno, when they were suddenly instructed to find smears against Assange and, when they didn’t, they were soon replaced. The President even took it upon himself to bless the world with his gossip, and to personally strip Assange of his asylum and citizenship without any due process of law.

In the end it finally dawned on me that I had been blinded by propaganda, and that Assange had been systematically slandered to divert attention from the crimes he exposed. Once he had been dehumanized through isolation, ridicule and shame, just like the witches we used to burn at the stake, it was easy to deprive him of his most fundamental rights without provoking public outrage worldwide. And thus, a legal precedent is being set, through the backdoor of our own complacency, which in the future can and will be applied just as well to disclosures by The Guardian, the New York Times and ABC News

Even so, you may say, why spend so much breath on Assange, when countless others are tortured worldwide? Because this is not only about protecting Assange, but about preventing a precedent likely to seal the fate of Western democracy. For once telling the truth has become a crime, while the powerful enjoy impunity, it will be too late to correct the course. We will have surrendered our voice to censorship and our fate to unrestrained tyranny.

Content creators everywhere are starting to panic about an upcoming policy change over at YouTube that threatens to eliminate all accounts and channels on the Google-owned video platform that are deemed to no longer be “commercially viable.”



In the “Account Suspension & Termination” section of YouTube’s “Terminations by YouTube for Service Changes,” guidelines, the company explains that, as of December 10, 2019, “YouTube may terminate your access, or your Google account’s access to all or part of the Service, if YouTube believes, in its sole discretion, that provision of the Service to you is no longer commercially viable.”

In other words, if you have a YouTube channel that YouTube employees decide isn’t profitable enough for Google, then the company has now granted itself the option to completely shut down your account without warning or consequence.

What this means is that YouTube content creators who’ve built their entire livelihoods around the platform are going to need a backup option in the event that they end up being terminated. One such option is Brighteon.com, which you can sign up for here.

The company announced Monday that it is refocusing its charitable foundation to a smaller number of charities, focusing exclusively on education, homelessness, and hunger.

“Our goal is to donate to the most effective organizations in the areas of education, homelessness and hunger. No organization will be excluded from future consideration – faith based or non-faith based,” Tim Tassopoulos, president and COO of Chick-fil-A, said in a statement.

Chick-fil-A’s tax records shows that it gave to several Christian schools and charitable groups in 2018. None of those groups appears in a list of Chick-fil-A’s 2019 charitable giving that the company made available for preview.

"The Guardian" correspondent Jonathan Steele told FNC's Tucker Carlson Monday evening that there is new evidence that the Syrian government was not responsible for the chemical weapons attacks that have been used as justification for U.S. bombings in that country.

    TUCKER CARLSON: Some of us, this show, had suspicions from the outset there wasn't much evidence that this had actually happened. What do we now know?

    JONATHAN STEELE, THE GUARDIAN: We now know from this whistleblower, who prefers to call himself Alex, we know his real name and we have got proof that he did work at the OPCW [Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons].

    He was an inspector. One of the team of about nine people who went to Damascus and Douma to pick up samples on the ground and to talk to witnesses and check the whole thing out. Now, he took these samples.

    The main point is that Chlorine gas degrades rapidly in the air. So coming in two weeks later, you wouldn't find anything. What you would find is that the gas contaminates or affects other chemicals in the natural environment. So-called "Chlorinated organic chemicals." The difficulty is they exist anyway in the natural environment and water. So the crucial thing is the levels, were there higher levels of Chlorinated organic chemicals found after the alleged gas attack than there would have been in the normal environment?

When they got back to the Netherlands, to The Hague where the OPCW has its headquarters, samples were sent off to designated laboratories, then there was a weird silence developed. Nobody told the inspectors what the results of the analysis was. It was only by chance that the inspector found out through accident earlier the results would come in and there were no differences at all. There were no higher levels of Chlorinated organic chemicals in the areas where the alleged attack had happened where there is some suspicious cylinders had been found by opposition activists. So it didn't seem possible that there could have been a gas attack because the levels were just the same as in the natural environment.

One of the enduring mysteries of modern political discourse is the way in which smart people — who are not remotely anti-Semitic — impose curious, unworkable double standards on the nation of Israel. Let’s take, for example, the response of many on the left to the so-called Great Return March, an effort by thousands of Gazans to storm the Israeli border.

After all, the international legal standards are clear. A nation has the right to protect the integrity of its border, and that right is supplemented by an inherent right of self-defense in the face of a hostile foreign power. Hamas — which rules Gaza — rejects Israel’s right to exist and remains in a state of perpetual, declared war with Israel. Any reasonable person contemplating the consequences of a border-wall breach knows that chaos and bloodshed may result.

The classified documents lay out the Chinese government’s deliberate strategy to lock up ethnic minorities even before they commit a crime, to rewire their thoughts and the language they speak.

The papers also show how Beijing is pioneering a new form of social control using data and artificial intelligence. Drawing on data collected by mass surveillance technology, computers issued the names of tens of thousands of people for interrogation or detention in just one week.

Taken as a whole, the documents give the most significant description yet of high-tech mass detention in the 21st century in the words of the Chinese government itself. Experts say they spell out a vast system that targets, surveils and grades entire ethnicities to forcibly assimilate and subdue them -- especially Uighurs, a predominantly Muslim Turkic minority of more than 10 million people with their own language and culture.

The documents were given to the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists by an anonymous source. The ICIJ verified them by examining state media reports and public notices from the time, consulting experts, cross-checking signatures and confirming the contents with former camp employees and detainees.

They consist of a notice with guidelines for the camps, four bulletins on how to use technology to target people, and a court case sentencing a Uighur Communist Party member to 10 years in prison for telling colleagues not to say dirty words, watch porn or eat without praying.

Given that the Xinjiang region is home to about 20 million Uyghurs, the detainment of 3 million of them only goes to show the scale of Beijing’s crackdown on the community.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel says that freedom of expression must be curtailed in order to keep society free.

“For all those who claim that they can no longer express their opinion, I say this to them; If you express a pronounced opinion, you must live with the fact that you will be contradicted,” said Merkel during a speech to the German Parliament.

“Expressing an opinion does not come at zero cost, but freedom of expression has limits,” she added, as some in the Bundestag could be heard voicing their disagreement.

“Those limits begin where hatred is spread, they begin where the dignity of other people is violated. This house will and must oppose extreme speech otherwise our society will no longer be the free society that it was,” said Merkel.

While defending ‘drag queens’ in the school classroom, in the face of opposition from parents, one teacher got on Facebook and said, “Parents don’t know what’s best for their children.”

A public school teacher, Anthony Lane, argued that transexual drag queens invited to Willis school district and taught boys how to apply makeup. That alone is a controversy, but here’s what Lane had to say in social media that is infuriating parents:



Let’s go through that quickly:

1. Education is not a customer service industry (teachers don’t work for parents, according to Lane).

2. He put “parental rights” in “scare quotes,” which implies they don’t really exist.

3. He says parents “are given so much authority,” as though it’s not innate to parenthood and is something granted them.

4. He says parents should not have the final say.

5. He says that some parents don’t know what’s best for their kids.

6. He says parents don’t have the right to enter the school for the sake of their religious, political, or moral beliefs.

But apparently, a man entering the school under a false name and false identity to sexually groom minors is totes legit.

The ‘drag queen’s’ fake name is Lynn Adonis-Deveaux and was invited to the school by a cosmology teacher to show students how to apply make-up. This is a weird decision, considering that ‘drag queens’ seem to be the worst at putting on makeup.

When dealing with anti-vaccers and other believers in woo, I often encounter indignant parents who, when faced with evidence and arguments that are contrary to their views, respond with, “well as a parent, only I know what is best for my child.” This sentiment is pervasive among anti-vaccers, but if we think about it for even a few seconds, the absurdity of it quickly becomes clear. Giving birth clearly does not magically impart you with infinite medical knowledge. Having a child is not even remotely equivalent to earning a medical degree. It’s kind of unbelievable that I even have to say that, but apparently, I do.

The problems with this claim should become obvious as soon as we start applying it to other situations. For example, purchasing a computer clearly does not endow me with instant and incomparable knowledge about anti-virus software, firewalls, etc. Similarly, no one claims to be an expert mechanic by sheer virtue of the fact that they own a car, so why would we think that simply having a child makes someone a medical expert?

In conclusion, I want to be clear that I’m not attacking parents or trying to “diminish” parenthood or any other such nonsense. I’m just trying to get people to have an accurate view of their own limitations. Having a child does not make you a medical expert nor does it make you the most qualified person to understand or assess your child’s health. If it did, there would be no need for doctors or science.

My concerns?? At a command sanctioned event, the CMEO ( command equal opportunity) advisor gave a Christian-centric blessing, including references to Jesus Christ.
Obviously I was aware of the line this crossed, and needed guidance; assistance with discussing this with my CO and how to take corrective action.
This was more than just me being uncomfortable with what had happened, but every member of the command had their their religious freedom violated and good order was definitely compromised that night.

PARIS (AP) – French transport strikes against a planned overhaul of the pension system entered their twelfth day Monday as French president Emmanuel Macron’s government remains determined to push ahead with its plans.

Authorities measured a record traffic jam of 630 kilometers (391 miles) of traffic in the morning in the Paris region, where only two Metro lines, using automated trains with no drivers, were fully running. The other 14 metro lines were closed or only very partially running.

Most regional and national trains were at a standstill. International train routes also suffered disruptions.

Truck drivers launched a separate protest movement Monday morning, staging road blockages across France to demand better salaries and working conditions.

Macron said last week he wants the government to “continue the work” on the pension changes, which include raising the retirement age to 64 and ending special privileges for some workers.

A few thousand yellow vest protesters marched from the Finance Ministry complex on the Seine River through southeast Paris, pushing their year-old demands for economic justice — and adding the retirement reform to their list of grievances.
Most marchers were peaceful but some threw projectiles or pushed riot officers, prompting repeated bursts of tear gas from police.
The marchers appear to be emboldened by the biggest national demonstrations in years on Thursday that kicked off a mass strike-and-protest movement against President Emmanuel Macron's redesign of the pension system.
"He (Macron) needs to stop giving gifts to the rich people, and give people means to be able to have a decent life," said one Yellow Vest protester who was attending the march.

An estimated $64 million in jewelry has been stolen from British model and socialite Tamara Ecclestone, the daughter of former Formula One boss Bernie Ecclestone, according to NBC News.

The 35-year-old has been left "angry and shaken" after burglars reportedly evaded both 24-hour security teams which patrol the west London street known as "Billionaire Row," as well as Ecclestone's own security officers, according to the report.

Ecclestone lives on Kensington Palace Gardens alongside notable neighbors, which include French and Russian ambassadors, as well as the Kensington Palace home of Prince William and his wife Kate.

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — Bundled in winter jackets, immigrants lined up at some Department of Motor Vehicle offices throughout New York as the state began issuing driver's licenses Monday that don't require applicants to prove they are in the country legally.

Hundreds of New Yorkers waited outside motor vehicle agencies in New York City, while several upstate clerks said they saw few applicants. License applicants without a valid Social Security number can now submit multiple alternative forms of ID that includes valid passports and driver’s licenses issued in other countries. State DMV officials said they adjusted staffing levels and updated their reservation system in anticipation of such large crowds Monday.

“This is a major step forward for all New Yorkers as we keep building New York to live up to its full potential of equity, opportunity, and justice," said state Sen. Luis Sepúlveda last week. “We also look forward to the significant economic and safety benefits the law will bring to communities across our state."

At least one county clerk in upstate New York opposed to the law said he was turning away applicants. Rensselaer County Clerk Frank Merola, one of several clerks who has sued to block New York's law said his office had turned away an applicant who wanted a driver's permit but lacked a social security number.

“I was pretty adamant that I was going to have a tough time doing it out of my office," Merola said. “That might have discouraged people coming to my office.”

The expiry of Patent '783 in 2012 spawned two events that would cause the already festering opioid crisis to get worse. First, when OxyContin was pulled from the market and replaced with OxyNeo, it sent those dependent on it – both abusers and patients who became addicted –struggling for something to replace it.

Just as that was happening, six drug makers in Canada began producing generic versions, filling the void with an abundant, cheaper supply.

It’s the family drama that one of Canada’s wealthiest men has been trying to brush away for a decade.

Try as he might, Barry Sherman, the billionaire founder of generic drug giant Apotex, continues to face down his cousins in a lawsuit that alleges he owed them a “fiduciary duty” stemming from his purchase of their late father’s family of drug companies back in 1967.

They are the “Winter orphans,” four boys, three of them now grown men and one who has passed away. Their father, Louis Winter, was the founder of Empire Laboratories Ltd. and died in 1965, when the boys were still very young, just weeks before their mother, Beverley, died.

Adopted by a Toronto couple, they faced many hardships into adulthood, some turning to drugs.

In a statement of claim filed in Superior Court, the plaintiffs say that following their parents’ deaths, cousin Barry, who had worked for Louis Winter, and some associates acquired Empire in 1967 for $450,000 through a holding company.

They promised in an option that the Winter children would have the right to work for the company after the age of 21 and buy five per cent of the issued shares, according to the statement of claim.
