Multiple times over the last week, I've heard Alex -- while trying desperately to demonize Iran, and thereby justify the premise of the neocon war agenda he claims to "oppose" -- repeat the lie that Iran threatened to wipe Israel off the map.

That neocon talking point was exposed as a hoax over a decade ago, and there's no way Alex can't know this. Why do I say that? Read the following and you'll know exactly why:

The "Wipe Israel Off The Map" Hoax

What Ahmadinejad really said and why this broken record is just another ad slogan for war

Paul Joseph Watson
Prison Planet
Friday, January 26, 2007

Barely a day goes by that one can avoid reading or hearing yet another Israeli, American or British warhawk regurgitate the broken record that Iran's President Ahmadinejad threatened to "wipe Israel off the map," framed in the ridiculous context that Israelis are being targeted for a second holocaust. This baseless rallying call for conflict holds about as much credibility as Dick Cheney's assertion that Saddam Hussein was planning to light up American skies with mushroom clouds.

Today it's the turn of would-be future British Prime Minister David Cameron, leader of the Conservative Party, who repeated the "wipe Israel off he map" fraud in a speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos, using it to qualify his refusal to rule out a military strike on Iran under a Tory government.

Did Ahmadinejad really threaten to "wipe Israel off the map" or is this phrase just another jingoistic brand slogan for selling the next war in the Middle East?

The devil is in the detail, wiping Israel off the map suggests a physical genocidal assault, a literal population relocation or elimination akin to what the Nazis did. According to numerous different translations, Ahmadinejad never used the word "map," instead his statement was in the context of time and applied to the Zionist regime occupying Jerusalem. Ahmadinejad was expressing his future hope that the Zionist regime in Israel would fall, not that Iran was going to physically annex the country and its population.

To claim Ahmadinejad has issued a rallying cry to ethnically cleanse Israel is akin to saying that Churchill wanted to murder all Germans when he stated his desire to crush the Nazis. This is about the demise of a corrupt occupying power, not the deaths of millions of innocent people.

The Guardian's Jonathan Steele cites four different translations, from professors to the BBC to the New York Times and even pro-Israel news outlets, in none of those translations is the word "map" used. The closest translation to what the Iranian President actually said is, "The regime occupying Jerusalem must vanish from the page of time," or a narrow relative thereof. In no version is the word "map" used or a context of mass genocide or hostile military action even hinted at.

The acceptance of the word "map" seemingly originated with the New York Times, who later had to back away from this false translation. The BBC also wrongly used the word and, in comments to Steele, later accepted their mistake but refused to issue a retraction.

"The fact that he compared his desired option - the elimination of "the regime occupying Jerusalem" - with the fall of the Shah's regime in Iran makes it crystal clear that he is talking about regime change, not the end of Israel. As a schoolboy opponent of the Shah in the 1970's he surely did not favor Iran's removal from the page of time. He just wanted the Shah out," writes Steele.

"It's important to note that the "quote" in question was itself a quote, writes Arash Norouzi, "they are the words of the late Ayatollah Khomeini, the father of the Islamic Revolution. Although he quoted Khomeini to affirm his own position on Zionism, the actual words belong to Khomeini and not Ahmadinejad. Thus, Ahmadinejad has essentially been credited (or blamed) for a quote that is not only unoriginal, but represents a viewpoint already in place well before he ever took office."

Professor Juan Cole concurs, arguing, "Now, some might say, "So he didn't say, 'wipe off the map,' he said 'erase from the page.' What's the difference? Anyway he's saying he wants to get rid of Israel. Ahmadinejad was not making a threat, he was quoting a saying of Khomeini and urging that pro-Palestinian activists in Iran not give up hope -- that the occupation of Jerusalem was no more a continued inevitability than had been the hegemony of the Shah's government. Whatever this quotation from a decades-old speech of Khomeini may have meant, Ahmadinejad did not say that 'Israel must be wiped off the map' with the implication that phrase has of Nazi-style extermination of a people. He said that the occupation regime over Jerusalem must be erased from the page of time."

Let's consider for a moment that Ahmadinejad really does wish to initiate a nuclear war on Israel, is this feasible? It would be like Paris Hilton picking a fight with Mike Tyson. The CIA's own estimates put Iran five to ten years away from being able to produce one nuclear bomb even if they were in the planning stages now, which is highly unlikely given that international inspectors have found no evidence of such a program and CIA satellite imagery also shows no proof of nuclear arms. Contrast this to an Israeli arsenal of anything up to 200 launch ready nukes allied to the might of the U.S. which has nearly 6,000 active warheads not to mention so-called "mini-nukes."

While it can be reasonably argued that Iran is seeking a nuclear weapon at some point in the future, to then claim that this means Ahmadinejad wishes to enact a second holocaust is an unfathomable leap of logic. The real reason for any nation in that region trying to acquire a nuclear weapon is for self defense, because they are surrounded by other hostile powers that already have the bomb.

Returning to the "wipe Israel off the map hoax," loathe are we to forget another of the commercial jingles concocted for hoodwinking Americans into attacking a certain other Middle Eastern country - "he used weapons of mass destruction against his own people," referring of course to Saddam Hussein's alleged role in the Halabja massacre where Iraqi Kurds were gassed. In reality, as former CIA analyst Stephen Pelletiere has revealed, Halabja came as a result of a battlefield exchange between the Iranians and the Iraqis after the Kurds had sided with the Iranians and allowed them to enter the city. According to the DIA's own report at the time, the type of gas that killed the Kurds was not used by the Iraqis but was used by the Iranians. The incident was a tragedy of war, not a directed program of genocide at the behest of Saddam Hussein.

Whenever Bush administration officials and others used Halabja as a pretext for war, the mass media routinely failed to mention the DIA report, just as they have failed to provide any balance on the real meaning of Ahmadinejad's statement, despite the fact that it is completely distorted almost every day and used as a call to arms as well as a propagandistic ploy to convince western populations that dark skinned invaders are hell-bent on their wholesale destruction.

It's one thing to innocently make a false statement out of ignorance. It's something else entirely to knowingly deceive people.

Shame on you, Alex.

By the way, did you notice I had to link to the Wayback Machine? That's because the above article -- which was still available at prisonplanet.com three years ago -- has since then been removed from the site.  Imagine my surprise!

A Partial List of the Many Alt-Media Figures Shilling for War with Iran on the Left and Right

One good thing about this Iran crisis is that separates the fakes from the real thing.

Eric Striker

A number of figures in the alt-media and extreme-left movement have surprised their audiences by rationalizing the Trump administration's Israeli-directed push towards war with Iran.

The consensus between high profile voices on the Zionist "far-right" and anarcho-neocon "far-left" in America and Britain reflect the party line in Israel, where even Amir Peretz of the ostensibly left-wing "opposition" Labor party hailed the Pentagon's decision to assassinate Maj. General Qassem Soleimani by luring him to Iraq under the false pretense of peace negotiations.

Spencer Sunshine, a self-proclaimed anarchist and prominent voice in the American "antifa" scene who has been accused of Zionist entryism in the past, took to twitter to reiterate Sean Hannity's script on the killing: that the Iranians brought it upon themselves by "antagonizing" America and "meddling" in Iraq. It speaks to the state of the modern coopted left that somebody like Sunshine can express the Israeli government's line and still survive the scrutiny of his peers. Sunshine is very suspicious of anti-war sentiment due to the fact that Jews like Sheldon Adelson and Jared Kushner are responsible for our over-the-top Iran policy. He has spent much of his career fighting what he calls "left-wing anti-Semitism" (principled anti-Zionism).

Caroline Orr, another fanatical Jewish supporter of "antifa," chastised "fellow" leftists for ignoring Soleimani's supposed "slaughter" of Syrians during the fight to save the country from ISIS. After some pushback, Orr is backpedaling, but her initial approval shows the Jewish nexus between the virulent anti-white forces on the left and the appetite for war against Iran on the so-called right. She also has made a name for herself for promoting fake news about "Russiagate" and attacking anti-war presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard.

While a branch of the left led by "tankies" (Workers World Party and Revolutionary Communist Party) behind the ANSWER coalition are adamantly against imperialism, many anarchists and "democratic socialists" support the CIA-led protest groups we have seen in recent months in Iran, Iraq and Lebanon, which have largely subsided but were intended to purge pro-Iran political factions. These groups are meant to incite a civil war, so these left-wing voices basically support regime change as well, just not by a full US ground invasion.

The ANSWER coalition's anti-war protests that erupted across America were small, showing that the left is not passionate about opposing this conflict. Figures like AOC and high ranking advisors in the Bernie Sanders campaign all attended the Zionist Dov Hikind's march against black "anti-Semitism" yesterday, but not any of the anti-war rallies.

On the other side of the coin, Anne Marie Waters of the "For Britain" group has fully embraced an invasion of Iran. Waters, a remnant of the largely Jewish funded "counter-jihad" movement, does not bother to articulate what the West stands to gain from such a conflict. Her only argument is a neo-liberal desire to impose gay plutocracy on the unwilling Iranians so that Israel can safely continue its expansionist foreign policy.

Mike Cernovich, who made a name for himself in 2016 in part for his non-interventionist views on Syria, has been  reduced to an Iraq-war era Toby Keith style jingo. He got so much pushback that he too was forced to "clarify" his opposition to war overnight.

Alex Jones of InfoWars has released a new conspiracy theory claiming that the Jews who control Donald Trump's government had to set off a chain-reaction that will lead to a regional conflagration in order to prevent World War III. According to Jones, the Obama administration is responsible for tensions with Iran by engaging with diplomacy with the country instead of attacking it. His audience isn't buying it. Over half of the reactions on his Bitchute video on the topic are negative.

Nick Fuentes of the Youtube show "America First" has also come under fire for recent statements on Telegram. While he prefaces his statements by saying he technically opposes a full war with Iran, he followed this by cheerleading threats by Zionists in Washington to bomb ancient Persian cultural sites, calls Iran a "degenerate Muslim shithole," celebrates "America bullying ppl and throwing around missiles", and comes to the defense of the "American-led" globalist military order, which Trump himself repeatedly criticized throughout his life and, as Tucker Carlson has said, won the presidency in large part by running against it.

Yea well, Jones is not a friend to anyone on this forum. He can still be good to get sheeple started waking up, but he'll only show them the gate.

And uh, by the way, why should I care if Israel exists or not? I'm an American.

Its existence is not the problem, its how it govt behaves.  They never show it on the news, but a very large sections of israeli people are at odds with the govt. There are many israelis that want genuine peace, they never make the news. There are many religous jews who do not recognise the secular govt. As for a nice thought, imagine a Ron Paul like person taking over the govt. After all, Israel is capable of electing some great leaders... even if the NWO does assassinate any true peace makers.

Anyway Jones is now playing 5Dchess

Perhaps even more people will realise they are being mugged, tricked, taken for a ride, by a simplistic neocon view of goodies v baddies.

Sure, I'd love a less neocon Israel. But really, I've never heard a good reason for going through so much trouble to maintain its existence. It's all been pure neocon talking points I hear from people. Regurgitated. "Brawndo's got what plants crave." "We need an ally in the Middle East."  :P  Trump himself even says we don't need oil from over there any more. Yet, we'll keep bombing generals Israel doesn't like and adding sanctions on all of them. Just 'cuz. Ryan Dawson is 100% right. He calls them God's Chosen Lunatics. It's purely religious. "Our book sez this land is ours." A wise man once said mixing religion and politics is lucifer/satan.

It's amazing when people are getting to know me and my politics and they're completely shocked when I even question why I should care about Israel. Even atheists do this. The media's grip on the American mind is so tight. It's mind blowing.

More and more US Americans are starting to think this way.  This is why state and the federal government are passing laws making it illegal to boycott Israel in order to do business with the government. I think the neocons in the US and Israel know they are on borrowed time as far as Americans always blindly supporting Israel neocons leaders and are acting with an urgency to start a war with Iran.
