How fast can a DNA Identity Test be completed ?

If anyone can find a test that can be completed in 15 minutes, we would be highly amused.

To increase the speed of forensic DNA testing, scientists from the University of Arizona and the UK's Forensic Science Service built a chip that can copy and analyze DNA samples taken from a cotton swab. Forensic technicians can collect DNA from suspects by swabbing their mouth, mixing the sample with a few chemicals, and warming it up. The DNA-testing-lab-on-a-chip does the rest. The entire process takes only four hours at present but the research team is already optimizing it and reducing the cycle time down to two hours.

DNA evidence (in it's current state and usage) is pseudo-science similar to the use of polygraphs. Whenever you hear the term "DNA evidence" you should be suspicious.

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad Straight Talk

Assad says what he means and means what he says — polar opposite how US, other Western, and Israeli officials operate, time and again duplicitous, never to be believed or trusted.
Interviewed

He heard about Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi’s alleged killing through media reports, he said, adding the following:

“We are the ones fighting terrorism” that’s supported by the US, NATO, Israel, the Saudis, and their imperial allies, my comment, not Assad’s, a reality he clearly understands.

“(W)e do not really know whether the operation did actually take place or not. No aircraft were detected on radar screens. Why were the remains of Baghdadi not shown,” he asked?

“This is the same scenario that was followed with Bin Laden. If there are going to use different pretexts in order not to show the remains, let us recall how President Saddam Husain was captured and how the whole operation was shown from A to Z.”

“They showed pictures and video clips after they captured him. The same happened when they killed his sons several months later. They showed the bodies.”

“So, why did they hide everything about the Bin Laden operation and now also the Baghdadi operation?”

“This is part of the tricks played by the Americans. That is why we should not believe everything they say unless they come up with evidence. American politicians are actually guilty until proven innocent, not the other way around.”

Whether Baghdadi is dead or alive, whether ISIS exists or is eliminated “will have no effect on (the) extremist” ideology it represents that’s been around for time immemorial, and exists under various names, Assad explained, adding:

Baghdadi can “replaced at any moment. Was he really killed? Was he killed but through a different method, in a very ordinary way? Was he kidnapped? Was he hidden? Or was he removed and given a facelift?”

‘(T)he whole thing regarding this operation is a trick. Baghdadi will be recreated under a different name, a different individual, or ISIS in its entirety might be reproduced as needed under a different name but with the same thought and the same purpose. The director of the whole scenario is the same, the Americans.”

Assad stressed that Russian involvement since September 2015 complies with international law, polar opposite how the US, NATO and its imperial allies operate.

Russian airpower and other material support for Syrian sovereignty and territorial integrity greatly aided the liberation of most of the country’s territory.

Ongoing US/NATO/Turkish aggression is another matter entirely. Moscow’s agreement with Ankara “is temporary…not permanent,” said Assad, adding:

Turkey’s cross-border aggression “reflects (its) territorial greed but also expresses the American desire. The Russian relationship with Turkey is positive because it reigns in (its) aspirations.”

“On the other hand, it outmaneuvers the American game in the north…and aborted the call for internationalization which was proposed by the Germans.”

“That is why this agreement is a positive step. It does not achieve everything, in the sense that it will not pressure the Turks to leave immediately.”

“NATO is the same thing as America,” Assad stressed. Erdogan can never be trusted. He breached the Astana process by continuing to support terrorists in northern Syria.

He broke his promise to establish an Idlib deescalation zone. Instead of disarming al-Nusra and likeminded terrorists, he supplied them with more weapons and other material support.

Assad: “In the end, we liberated (Idlib) areas gradually through military operations. The same will apply in the northern region after exhausting all political options.”

Like the US, NATO, Israel, and the Saudis, Turkey is Syria’s mortal enemy. Erdogan aims to seize and annex as much of its territory as he can get away with, an agenda Moscow opposes and is using diplomacy to prevent.

Like ISIS and likeminded terrorist groups, Turkey operates as an “American proxy in this war, and everywhere we have fought we have been fighting this proxy,” Assad explained.

If Syria’s liberation can’t be achieved diplomatically ahead, “you go to war against” the hostile invader. “There is no other choice,” said Assad.

He called Trump “the best American president, not because his policies are good, but because he is the most transparent president,” adding:

“All American presidents perpetrate all kinds of political atrocities and all crimes and yet still win the Nobel Prize and project themselves as defenders of human rights and noble and unique American values, or Western values in general.”

“The reality is that they are a group of criminals who represent the interests of American lobbies, i.e. the large oil and arms companies, and others.”

“Trump talks transparently, saying that what we want is oil. This is the reality of American policy, at least since WWII. We want to get rid of such and such a person or we want to offer a service in return for money. This is the reality of American policy.”

Regardless of statements by Trump and other US officials, “the Americans are (illegal) occupiers.”

Asked how he’d feel about “shak(ing) hands” with an Erdogan regime official, he said:

“I would not be honored by such a meeting and I would feel disgusted. But we have to put our personal feelings aside when there is a national interest at stake.”

“If a meeting would achieve results, I would say that everything done in the national interest should be done.”

“This is the responsibility of the state. I do not expect a meeting to produce any results unless circumstances change for the Turks.”

“And because the Erdogan-type Turks are opportunists and belong to an opportunist organization and an opportunist ideology, they will produce results according to changing circumstances, when they are under pressure, depending on their internal or external circumstances or maybe their failure in Syria. Then, they might produce results.”

As for possibly meeting with the Israelis, Assad is against dealing with officials wanting Syrian sovereignty eliminated, an apartheid nation hostile to peace, equity and justice, one created by dispossessing indigenous Palestinians — its ruling regime at war with Syria without declaring it.

The lengthy interview covered other issues. He ended it saying:

“(W)e pin our hopes on you in the (Arab) media to be – as you have been – part of the battle against terrorism, against corruption, and against any flaw which might take the country backward instead of moving it forward.

The Real US Mission in Syria

US involvement in Syria has nothing to do with regional peace, stability and security, nothing to do with combatting ISIS.

It’s all about killing a nation, destroying its sovereignty, partitioning it for easier control, removing its legitimate leadership, installing puppet rule, plundering it, exploiting its people, eliminating an Israeli rival, isolating Iran, and enriching the US military, industrial, security complex from endless aggression.

On Thursday, US war secretary Mark Esper repeated what he said days earlier. Heavily armed Pentagon forces will continue controlling Syrian oil producing areas, on the phony pretext of “deny(ing) their access to ISIS — the scourge created and supported by the US he failed to explain.

During a Thursday joint press conference with his Australian counterpart Linda Reynolds at the Pentagon, Esper said the following:

“Our National Defense Strategy emphasizes that our principal concern is the Indo-Pacific region” — to counter China’s sovereign independence, its growing regional and global influence, it economic, financial, military and technological development, he failed to explain, adding:

“I need to redeploy (Pentagon) forces to the area” to increase the US military footprint in a part of the world not its own.

Asked to comment on Trump’s remark about wanting to take Syrian oil, Esper said the following:

“Yeah, the – the mission is, as – as I’ve spoken to, and I’ve conveyed it to the commander, and that is, we will secure oil fields to deny their access to ISIS and other actors in the region (sic), and to ensure that the SDF has continued access, because those resources are – are important, and so that the SDF can – can do its mission, what it needs to do in the region (sic).”

Asked “(i)s that a new mission, he failed to say it’s part of the overall Pentagon objective to transform Syria into a US vassal state, plunder its resources, and achieve the other aims explained above.

On Thursday, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said the US is stealing and smuggling $30 million worth of Syrian oil monthly “under the pretext of fighting ISIL.”

Separately, Zakharova explained that US/NATO-supported al-Qaeda-connected White Helmets are planning a new chemical weapons attack to be falsely blame on Damascus, saying:

“New confirmations of the information about the White Helmets’ activities emerge all the time.”

“According to the existing information, which the Syrian government regularly provides to the United Nations, the White Helmets, jointly with terrorists, are preparing new chemical provocations in Syria. They obviously aim at disrupting the peace process in the country,” adding:

They’re working with (US-supported) al-Nusra jihadists in Idlib province, the last major terrorist stronghold in the country — these elements heavily armed with US, other Western, Turkish, and Saudi-supplied weapons.

So-called ceasefire in northern Syria is illusory. On Friday, Russian reconciliation center head General Yuri Borenkov said 14 ceasefire breaches occurred in the last 24 hours alone — in Hama, Idlib, Aleppo, and Latakia provinces, adding:

Syrian forces in “Acre, Tel Rasha and Zuweiqat in Latakia province have been shot at by (US-supported) Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (al-Nusra) and foreign militants.”

On Friday, Southfront reported that “al-Qaeda (and) Turkish-backed radical militants launch(ed) (a) large-scale attack in northern Latakia” province “on Syrian military positions and civilian areas,” adding:

The assault “reportedly (was) led by” (US/Ankara-supported) al-Nusra jihadists, along with “(o)ther factions of the terrorist group and elements of the Turkish-backed Syrian National Army (SNA).”

“The new attack…coincides with a Turkish offensive on Kurdish-majority areas in northeast Syria. Radical SNA militants are leading the offensive, committing war crimes against civilians in the region.”

The struggle to liberate Syria from foreign occupation and plunder has miles to go because of US, NATO, Turkish, Saudi, and Israeli rage to eliminate the Syrian Arab Republic as it now exists.

‘I like oil!’ Trump reaffirms predatory intentions in Syria as Assad calls him ‘the best’ US president for his honesty

“We’ve stayed back and kept the oil,” Trump reiterated on Friday, reaffirming the main US interest in Syria and making clear that all less immediately lucrative endeavors like keeping peace and reconstructing the devastated country should be taken care of by someone else. “Other people can patrol the border of Syria... let them – they’ve been fighting for a thousand years.”

Quote
I like oil! We're keeping the oil!

Trump’s remarkably blunt approach was commended by Syria’s Assad, who noted in a recent interview that Nobel Peace Prize laureate presidents always pose as the “defenders of human rights and noble and unique American values,” rather than “criminals who represent the interests of American lobbies.”

Quote
He is the best American President, not because his policies are good, but because he is the most transparent president… What can be better than an honest enemy?'

Russian Foreign Ministry on Syria, White Helmets, Lebanon and Venezuela

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova (MZ below) explained that a “Constitutional Committee was launched in Geneva on October 30…with support from the Astana format.”

The 150-member body has equal representation of pro-government and opposition figures, 45 of the body’s members in groups of 15 charged with preparing constitutional initiatives.

The larger body is responsible for adopting what’s agreed on, aiming to complete things in six months, though no deadline was imposed.

Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Muallem earlier said “(e)ach step must be prudent and informed since the constitution is an essential step in the determination of Syria’s future.”

No preconditions are imposed on the process — other than Syrians alone must be involved, no foreign powers, Muallem stressing:

“The whole process should be owned and led by Syrians themselves, who have the exclusive right of determining their country’s future without any foreign intervention or interference.”

The end-game goal is restoring peace and stability to war-torn Syria. The key problem is whatever is agreed on can be overridden by endless US aggression. Near-term conflict resolution remains unattainable because US dark forces reject it.

MZ said “the most complicated developments are on the territories outside Syrian government control on the eastern bank of the Euphrates, in the Idlib de-escalation zone, and in the US-occupied area around Al Tanf.”

Illegal US and Turkish aggression and occupation are major obstacles as long as they continue.

MZ: The “Americans are smuggling oil from Syria valued at over $30 million a month, and are set to stay there for the foreseeable future.”

Jihadists “in the Idlib de-escalation zone continue shelling government troops” with heavy weapons supplied by the US and its imperial allies.

“In October, there were around 600 such attacks. The region has long become a hotbed of international terrorism” supported by the US, NATO, Turkey, Israel, the Saudis, and their rogue allies.

“We consider the restoration of social infrastructure to be a priority which has special significance in the context of maintaining the process of a voluntary, safe and dignified return of the Syrians to their permanent places of residence.”

“Over 450,000 refugees and over 1.3 million internally displaced persons have already returned to their places of residence since July 2018.”

MZ slammed US support for the White Helmets terrorist group, masquerading as civil defense workers, operating exclusively in jihadist held parts of Syria in cahoots with their atrocities.

MZ: “Russia has on many occasions presented evidence not only through bilateral channels, but also publicly, of the stable ties between the White Helmets and terrorist groups, as well as crimes committed by these pseudo-humanitarian workers and their participation in staged chemical attacks.”

“This information has been confirmed by investigations conducted by Russian and foreign independent experts of good standing. Foreign experts and journalists were the first to note the White Helmets’ criminal activities.”

Their elements are concentrated in terrorist-infested Idlib province. They’re currently planning another CW false flag to be wrongfully blamed on Damascus.

MZ addressed ongoing protests in Lebanon since mid-October, hundreds of thousands of Lebanese involved in Beirut and elsewhere in the country.

Workers, students and others involved reject economic reforms proposed that are too meager to matter. They demand independent technocrats replacing corrupt officials, no simple task assembling them.

Around a fourth of Lebanon’s six million people are involved in anti-government protests. MZ said “(w)e are following the internal political developments in friendly Lebanon closely,” adding:

Protests abated somewhat after President Michel Aoun accepted Prime Minister Saed Hariri’s resignation on Thursday.

He and his ministers remain in office as acting officials until new ones are announced, a process likely to take months.

MZ called what’s going on “a domestic affair of Lebanon and its people,” adding: “(W)e think it is extremely important for all external forces to respect the sovereignty and independence of Lebanon, which rules out any interference in the affairs of that Middle East country.”

Note: The Trump regime froze $105 million in military aid, earmarked for the Lebanese army, urged by the Pentagon to increase separation in its ranks from Hezbollah’s military wing — established for self-defense against feared US and/or Israeli aggression.

Commenting on Trump regime anti-Venezuela economic terrorism, MZ said conditions in the country remain “uneasy.”

Trump hardliners are hellbent to replace its social democracy with pro-Western puppet rule. They reject diplomatic efforts to resolve things.

MZ: “(N)egative outside pressure and threats of scenarios based on force have not abated. Apparently, normalization in Venezuela does not fit into the plans of Washington, the main actor in this area.”

“As before, the White House continues to behave under the divide-and-rule principle” in pursuit of its imperial agenda.

Pompeo falsely claimed Venezuelans are forced to choose between food and freedom. He lied claiming President Maduro is using food as a political weapon.

Since Trump took office, US economic terrorism stole over $30 billion from Venezuela, notably by asset theft, blocking its oil sales, and other imperial toughness.

MZ: The Venezuelan people “have not forgotten on whose instructions (the national wealth was) expropriated. (Maduro’s) government could have spent the money on social needs – medicines and food. Instead, these confiscated funds are used in corruption schemes by shady opposition dealers.”

At the same time, the Trump regime “threatens Russian and European companies with secondary sanctions for cooperation with Venezuela’s state-run oil company PDVSA.”

Russia’s “demand (for the US to) adhere to the standards and principles of international law” falls in deaf ears in Washington.

It’s a waste of time and effort, trying to reason with hegemon USA hellbent for global dominance, wanting regime change in all nations it doesn’t control — Russia, China and Iran most of all.

Moscow slams illegal US presence in Syria amid reports of new military bases being built in oil-rich province

The statement comes shortly after Turkish media reported that two new American military bases are under construction in the oil-rich Deir ez-Zor province.

The Russian diplomat was asked for the ministry’s take on the reported US plans; his response echoes Russia’s position on the matter, previously stated by Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and President Vladimir Putin.

Quote
Any actions whatsoever – we are not talking about anything in particular now – that the United States undertake to keep themselves militarily present in Syria are unacceptable and illegal from our point of view and under international law.

Turkish media reported earlier on Tuesday that the US has started constructing two new military bases in the Deir ez-Zor governorate which is known for its oil reserves. It is claimed that one of the facilities is being built near the former Syrian Air Defense Forces’ 113th Brigade base and another in the al-Sur region.'

Former British Ambassador to Syria: UK complicit in Trump’s Syria Oil Grab

OIR is Operation Inherent Resolve, which is the name behind which the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS cloaks its military activities. (Think NATO wearing a thobe.) CJTFOIR is the Combined Joint Task Force for Operation Inherent Resolve.

If, as per the spokesman’s statement, the forces being redeployed to Syria’s oil-producing areas are Inherent Resolve forces, it follows that those troops are doing so in the name and under the aegis of the Coalition. Simple. Ah yes, but awkward for the British government to admit – awkward for practical, political and legal reasons.'

Leaked US Memo Confirms NATO Ally Turkey Pursuing "Intentioned Ethnic Cleansing" In Syria

'Though Erdogan has never made a secret of his desire to redraw Syria's map of Kurds and Arabs via his Turkish military incursion in northern Syria, and in the months prior to his ordering the operation even made statements tantamount to an open policy of ethnic cleansing, it was surprising how easily the White House gave the green light a month ago despite Ankara's stated aims.

But now a leaked internal US government memo published by The New York Times spells it out clearly, and underscores the fact that everyone in Washington knows NATO's second largest military is now engaged in ongoing ethnic cleansing. The internal State Department memo states bluntly the Turks are conducting "an intentioned-laced effort at ethnic cleansing".

It was authored by William Roebuck, Americas top diplomat in northern Syria, who for years previously served as the Deputy Chief of Mission in Syria. He was also recently the US Ambassador to Bahrain.

The most shocking line among its 3200 total words are as follows:

Quote
“Turkey’s military operation in northern Syria, spearheaded by armed Islamist groups on its payroll, represents an intentioned-laced effort at ethnic cleansing."

The memo further describes Turkey's Islamist ground proxies in the so-called 'Syrian National Army' (or formerly FSA) as carrying out horrific human rights violations and summary executions of Kurdish fighters and civilians, calling the abuses "what can only be described as war crimes and ethnic cleansing."

Roebuck's internally circulated memo, later leaked to the press, is considered the first broad dissent memo decrying President Trump's policy to dump the Kurds by withdrawing from the border areas.

The memo urged greater US action in pushing back against invading Turkish forces: "we have a chance to minimize the damage for us and hopefully correct some of the impact of Turkey's current policies, as we seek to implement the president's guidance for our presence in northeastern Syria," it said. Roebuck also called America's current policy in Syria "a catastrophic sideshow". '

US Wants to Create Illegal Quasi-State in Eastern Syria - Lavrov

'Damascus, Moscow, Ankara and others have repeatedly criticised the US's effort to continue to hold onto oil-rich areas of Syria, saying such actions are a blatant violation of international law.

The United States is looking to illegally separate territories on the eastern bank of the Euphrates and to create a separate, illegal quasi-state there, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has said, speaking at the Paris Peace Forum on Tuesday.

Quote
"On the eastern bank of the Euphrates River, they are doing everything possible to create the structure for a quasi-state, and are asking the Gulf States for major investments in order to create a local administration on the basis of the Syrian Democratic Forces, the Kurds - the YPG People's Protectoin Units and others, with the clear intention to break this piece of territory off from Syria and to control the oil fields located there," Lavrov said.

At the same time, Lavrov accused the US of prohibiting its allies from investing in Syria's reconstruction.

"When it comes to Syria's reconstruction, we support, together with the Syrian government, inviting everyone [to participate], creating the conditions for the modernisation of infrastructure and the return of refugees, so that the country could return to a normal life. The United States categorically deny the need for this, and prohibit its allies - NATO, the European Union, the countries of the region, to invest in any projects in territories controlled by the Syrian government," the foreign minister said.

Kurdish Question

Lavrov urged Syria's Kurds to take part in political dialogue on the situation in the country, but called on Kurdish representatives to be consistent in their position.

"If from the start of the conflict, they decided that they can act with US support, when they announced the creation of the Rojava Federation, and that the US would provide them with support in their movement toward separatism, this was their decision," the diplomat said. "We attempted to explain to them, and to the Syrian government, that it is important to begin a dialogue between Damascus and the Kurds. The Kurds did not show interest in this. They were convinced that they would always be supported by the United States," he added.

Quote
Lavrov lamented that although Kurdish authorities did ask Moscow for assistance in starting a dialogue with the Syrian government as the US announced its partial withdrawal in October, they appeared to lose interest in such dialogue after the US said that they would return to the wartorn country to control its oil fields.'

New sexed-up dossier furore: Explosive leaked email claims that UN watchdog's report into alleged poison gas attack by Assad was doctored - so was it to justify British and American missile strikes on Syria?

'A leaked email last night dramatically indicated that the UN’s poison gas watchdog had butchered and censored a critical report on an alleged chemical attack in Syria. If substantiated, the revelations will be severely embarrassing for Britain, France and America, which launched a massive military strike in retaliation without waiting for proof that chemical weapons had actually been used.

Unconfirmed reports and videos, showing the corpses of adults and children foaming at the mouth in Douma, a suburb of Damascus, shocked the world in April 2018 and led to a joint Western attack on the supposed culprit, Syria, in which more than 100 missiles, including nearly 70 Tomahawk cruise missiles, were fired.

Although the reports and films could not be independently verified, as the alleged events took place in a war zone then under the control of brutal Islamist militants, Western governments, and many Western media, took them at face value.

President Donald Trump tweeted at the time: ‘Many dead, including women and children, in mindless CHEMICAL attack in Syria. Area of atrocity is in lockdown and encircled by Syrian Army, making it completely inaccessible to outside world.
