Maybe there are others in Texas who read and post on this forum.  ;)

All Texans who can vote are able to vote on the proposed constitutional amendments, but don't forget to check your local bond elections and things. Early voting is open now until November 3rd, but I always recommend waiting to vote until election day if you can. Here are the proposed amendments, my endorsements/ Dr. No-like tendencies, and my predictions.  ;D

Proposition 1 -
"The constitutional amendment authorizing the legislature to provide for an exemption from ad valorem taxation of part of the market value of the residence homestead of a partially disabled veteran or the surviving spouse of a partially disabled veteran if the residence homestead was donated to the disabled veteran by a charitable organization for less than the market value of the residence homestead and harmonizing certain related provisions of the Texas Constitution."

Me: AGAINST. It's part of this culture of creating a class of citizens above others.
Prediction: It'll pass, no problem. Anything with veteran in it passes.

Proposition 2 -
"The constitutional amendment to establish a lower amount for expenses that can be charged to a borrower and removing certain financing expense limitations for a home equity loan, establishing certain authorized lenders to make a home equity loan, changing certain options for the refinancing of home equity loans, changing the threshold for an advance of a home equity line of credit, and allowing home equity loans on agricultural homesteads."

Me: AGAINST. Helps the fiat money system. Allows more risk, only for Texans.
Prediction: More than likely to pass, all I see are vote for ads.

Proposition 3 -
"The constitutional amendment limiting the service of certain officeholders appointed by the governor and confirmed by the senate after the expiration of the person's term of office."

Me: FOR. Although I'd rather see people appointed by Abbot stay in longer if Texas goes blue, it works the other way around. And even the slim possibility of independents taking office would make it all that much easier for us independents.
Prediction: I don't think it will pass, because people will be thinking along the lines of worrying about Texas going blue in the near future. One-track minds only looking a couple years into the future (if that.)

Proposition 4 -
"The constitutional amendment authorizing the legislature to require a court to provide notice to the attorney general of a challenge to the constitutionality of a state statute and authorizing the legislature to prescribe a waiting period before the court may enter a judgment holding the statute unconstitutional."

Me: AGAINST. This is in response to the sanctuary cities fighting back against the state on immigration enforcement. Sounds good, until you realize, it doesn't specifically state immigration enforcement. The state could pull just about anything off and could be enforced for God knows how long the "waiting period" could be.
Prediction: It'll pass. "Git those dag gum illegals!" While people throw away immediate action by the courts on anything with questionable constitutionality.

Proposition 5 -
"The constitutional amendment on professional sports team charitable foundations conducting charitable raffles."

Me: AGAINST. Lol it's categorized under "gambling." I would vote for legalized gambling, but this only help professional sports teams and 501 c 3's. No thanks.
Prediction: Eh, 50/50 on this one. Sports and charity are in the same sentence. That's all this has going for it for the common idiot.

Proposition 6 -
"The constitutional amendment authorizing the legislature to provide for an exemption from ad valorem taxation of all or part of the market value of the residence homestead of the surviving spouse of a first responder who is killed or fatally injured in the line of duty."

Me: AGAINST. Once again, another amendment trying to create a different more special class of citizens. This stuff sickens me.
Prediction: It'll pass. I swear most people here would lick their boots just to prove to others how much they love "first responders."

Proposition 7 -
"The constitutional amendment relating to legislative authority to permit credit unions and other financial institutions to award prizes by lot to promote savings."

Me: AGAINST. Another amendment asking to help the fiat money system.
Prediction: Pass. "Conservatives" will take it as people will grow their savings account. And it will. Yea numbers on a computer screen.  :P

Well that's all of the statewide constitutional amendments to vote on. Don't forget to check out your local bond issues and others. I usually always vote against them all. This year I'm going to vote for on my local bonds only because of Hurricane Harvey and how it affected what we're voting on. Next time, I'll be back to always voting no on those. VOTE. GO.

I'll bump this before or on November 3rd, the last day of early voting, and November 6th, the day before the real election. Then I'll post November 8th with the results.

Forgot to bump on the last day of early voting. Oops.

Election day is tomorrow, Texas. Go vote.

They all passed! The boot lickers came out in mass. Now we have a group of people considered a different class.  :P
