So that everyone has at least some idea of what compelled me to create this thread in the first place, please consider the following hypothetical scenario.

It's October 2016. There's a nationally televised presidential debate between four candidates: (a) Hilldog, (b) Jeb Bush, (c) Rand Paul, and (d) a "progressive libertarian" candidate whom I'll call Bill Smith.

The first question posed to each of the four candidates is:

"Do you support the NEED Act?"

Bill Smith responds: "Yes, I do."

How do the other three candidates respond?

To continue with the aforementioned hypothetical scenario, candidate Bill Smith answers "yes," each time, when asked whether or not he supports the following bills:

How, on the basis of their actual track records (as opposed to their campaign season rhetoric), do the other three candidates respond?

It's actually the Republican-Democrats vs The People

What we are seeing here is a bizarro reuniting of the Democratic-Republican Party of old.  The two parties split about 1825 becoming the Democrats and Republicans.

What I mean by bizarro is it that they have twisted the system into an unrecognizable mockery of truth... They are joined together in opposition to the Constitution and the American people.  The Tea-Party, along with the Constitution Party and the Libertarians, are merely growing the political manifestation in reaction to this unholy union.

I have no doubt we will win this battle in the eternal war against tyranny.

That all sounds nice, but it doesn't answer the question I asked regarding the specific pieces of legislation I linked to.

There's always going to be a rhetorical reaction to the status quo.

But if it's not backed up with legislative action by those elected and paid with taxpayer money to carry out that role on behalf of the rest of us, then it's just a lot of hot air designed to elicit the same old cheap applause from the already-converted.

You answered your own question... the only legislative action they can take that makes any sense is to delegislate... Our boys and girls have a lot of repealing to do... I call my reps every week or so with a new delegislation demand, and where an why it offends the Constitution...  The only way to get them to do it is to badger them constantly.

We are almost at the same point here in America where the Russians were when Stalin made this statement.

We would not let our enemies have guns,
why should we let them have ideas."

Of course I agree, but dude, did you even read any of the aforementioned bills?
