Just a third of Britons want a cashless society after fears contactless cards are open to fraud and theft

‘Efforts by banks and stores to push customers to stop using real money are failing, with just one in three happy to live in a cashless society.

Finance giants want people to switch to tap and go cards or use smartphones to make payments as this is much cheaper for them than handling real money.

It also good news for retailers amid evidence people are more likely to spend when using virtual money than real notes and coins.

However, new research by retail analysts Mintel suggests that only a tiny fraction of the public are willing to give up on cash.’

Cash Might Be King, but They Don’t Care
http://www.nytimes.com/2017/12/25/nyregion/no-cash-money-cashless-credit-debit-card.html

'The other day at Dig Inn, a just-opened lunch spot on Broadway and 38th Street in Midtown Manhattan, Shania Bryant committed a consumer faux pas. She placed her order for chicken and brown rice and yams, and when she got to the register, she held out a $50 bill.

“Sorry,” the cashier told her. “We don’t take cash.” Not, “We don’t take $50s.” No cash. Period.

“What?” Ms. Bryant asked.

The cashier patiently explained. Credit and debit cards were fine, as was the easy-to-download Dig Inn phone app. But the almighty dollar was powerless.

“I’ve never experienced that before,” said Ms. Bryant, 20, an assistant to a designer. “I guess we’re in new times.”

Indeed. Cashless businesses were once an isolated phenomenon, but now, similarly jarring experiences can be had across the street at Sweetgreen, or two blocks up at Two Forks, or next door to Two Forks at Dos Toros, or over on 41st Street at Bluestone Lane coffee. In Midtown and some other neighborhoods across New York City, cashless is fast on its way to becoming normal.'

Swedes are getting implants in their hands to replace cash, credit cards

https://nypost.com/2019/07/14/swedish-people-are-getting-chip-implants-to-replace-cash-credit-cards/

Thousands of people in Sweden are having futuristic microchips implanted into their skin to carry out everyday activities and replace credit cards and cash.

More than 4,000 people have already had the sci-fi-ish chips, about the size of a grain of rice, inserted into their hands — with the pioneers predicting millions will soon join them as they hope to take it global.

“It’s very ‘Black Mirror,’” Swedish scientist Ben Libberton told The Post of the similarity to the TV series highlighting futuristic scenarios.

Like glorified smartwatches, the chips help Swedes monitor their health and even replace keycards to allow them to enter offices and buildings.

They have particularly caught on, however, by enabling owners to pay in stores with a simple swipe of the hand, a big deal in a forward-looking country that is moving toward eliminating cash.

The microchips were pioneered by former body piercer Jowan Österlund, who calls the technology a “moonshot” — and who told Fortune magazine that he’s been hit up by hopeful investors “on every continent except Antarctica.”

“Tech will move into the body,” the Biohax International founder told the mag. “I am sure of that.”

Österlund insists the technology is safe — but that has not stopped alarm bells from ringing, with some fearing a link to a doubling in cybercrime in the country over the last decade.

I will be honest. I do not care that Swedes want get implants in head, stomach or in the feet. Serbia and Sweden were not allies neither WW1 neither WW2, Sweden recognize self-claimed "Republic of Kosovo", Sweden have strong sanctions against Russia...Implants are their choice and Sweden Government, Sweden LGBT "Church", MSM...and their responsibility.

BUT, is dangerous that other countries in world go to "implant way"  - 666.
