Israel seeks to legalize 3,500 outposts on private Palestinian lands: Report

‘There are 3,455 residential and public buildings built on private Palestinian lands in the West Bank, according to Civil Administration data. These illegal structures could be legalized under the expropriation law, whose validity is now being determined by the High Court of Justice in response to Palestinian petitions against the law.

Extensive details on the scope of illegal structures on private Palestinian land were revealed in an appendix to the state’s response to the petitions.

The law allows the state to expropriate Palestinian lands on which settlements or outposts were built “in good faith or at the state’s instruction,” and deny its owners the right to use those lands until there is a diplomatic resolution of the status of the territories. The measure provides a mechanism for compensating Palestinians whose lands are seized.’

Israel Declares the Tamimi Family Village a Closed Military Zone

http://davidicke.com/article/450923/israel-declares-tamimi-family-village-closed-military-zone

by Stephen Lendman

The Tamimi family, its many relatives, and 600 Nabi Saleh residents were targeted.

Entry to the village was blocked, barriers set up, blocking anyone trying to get in, especially journalists, wanting reports on its repression suppressed.

According to activist Bilal Tamimi, ahead of his lawless arrest, Israeli forces are preventing non-residents from entering the village.

It wants protests against occupation harshness and Trump’s Jerusalem declaration suppressed.

Perhaps it intends dispossessing village residents, ethnically cleansing them, arresting other activists, brutalizing many - the way all police states operate.

Locking down Nabi Saleh came after ultranationalist defense minister Avigdor Lieberman ordered collective punishment on Tamimi family members.

Ahed’s father Bassem, arrested and detained numerous times, is prohibited from traveling outside the Territories.

Global protests supporting Ahed and her family members continue - in Gaza, the West Bank, East Jerusalem, Berlin, Rome and other European cities, New York, Sydney and elsewhere.

Ahed is one of over 300 Palestinian children imprisoned, for political reasons, not criminality.

Hundreds of Palestinian children are arrested, detained, and subjected to cruel and humane treatment annually.

Lieberman annulled work permits for 20 Tamimi family members, wanting them punished, impoverished and perhaps starved into submission.

Besides Ahed and her mother Nariman, four other Tamimi family members were lawlessly arrested and detained.

In justifying unjustifiable collective punishment on their family members, Lieberman said “(d)ealing with (them) has to be severe” - to quash their courageous resistance.

Interviewed days earlier on the Real News.com, Ahed’s cousin Manal explained her arrest, detention and brutal treatment, saying:

During a peaceful protest, she was arrested without justification or warning, taken to Ofer prison.

“(T)here…away from the media and the cameras,” she was brutally beaten. During days of detention, she was “bleeding…very sick,” experiencing “extreme pain” - ahead of enduring grueling interrogation, a procedure amounting to torture.

She was interrogated long hours “outside in the cold…without food (and) water, without anything” - then sent to Hasharon prison, arriving around 4:00 AM.

Exhausted, ill and in pain was made tougher by transferring her from “one prison to another,” standard Israeli treatment to intensify suffering - “torture,” Manal called it.

Released, she could be arrested and detained any time at Israel’s discretion, one of many ways it inflicts punishment on Palestinians.

Thousands of Palestinian political prisoners endure abusive treatment similar to what Manal experienced - including Ahed, her mother and other Tamimi family members in detention awaiting kangaroo military trials, assuring convictions by accusation.

Being Palestinian in a ruthless Jewish state assures brutalizing harshness, Tamimi family members now enduring its viciousness.
