Candidate Trump: ‘I Love Wikileaks.’ President Trump: ‘Arrest Assange!’
Written by Ron Paul
Monday April 24, 2017
http://ronpaulinstitute.org/archives/featured-articles/2017/april/24/candidate-trump-i-love-wikileaks-president-trump-arrest-assange/

“I love Wikileaks,” candidate Donald Trump said on October 10th on the campaign trail. He praised the organization for reporting on the darker side of the Hillary Clinton campaign. It was information likely leaked by a whistleblower from within the Clinton campaign to Wikileaks.

Back then he praised Wikileaks for promoting transparency, but candidate Trump looks less like President Trump every day. The candidate praised whistleblowers and Wikileaks often on the campaign trail. In fact, candidate Trump loved Wikileaks so much he mentioned the organization more than 140 times in the final month of the campaign alone! Now, as President, it seems Trump wants Wikileaks founder Julian Assange sent to prison.

Last week CNN reported, citing anonymous “intelligence community” sources, that the Trump Administration’s Justice Department was seeking the arrest of Assange and had found a way to charge the Wikileaks founder for publishing classified information without charging other media outlets such as the New York Times and Washington Post for publishing the same information.

It might have been tempting to write off the CNN report as “fake news,” as is much of their reporting, but for the fact President Trump said in an interview on Friday that issuing an arrest warrant for Julian Assange would be, “OK with me.”

Trump’s condemnation of Wikileaks came just a day after his CIA Director, Michael Pompeo, attacked Wikileaks as a “hostile intelligence service.” Pompeo accused Assange of being “a fraud — a coward hiding behind a screen.”

Pompeo’s word choice was no accident. By accusing Wikileaks of being a “hostile intelligence service” rather than a publisher of information on illegal and abusive government practices leaked by whistleblowers, he signaled that the organization has no First Amendment rights. Like many in Washington, he does not understand that the First Amendment is a limitation on government rather than a granting of rights to citizens. Pompeo was declaring war on Wikileaks.

But not that long ago Pompeo also cited Wikileaks as an important source of information. In July he drew attention to the Wikileaks release of information damaging to the Clinton campaign, writing, “Need further proof that the fix was in from President Obama on down?”

There is a word for this sudden about-face on Wikileaks and the transparency it provides us into the operations of the prominent and powerful: hypocrisy.

The Trump Administration’s declaration of war on whistleblowers and Wikileaks is one of the greatest disappointments in these first 100 days. Donald Trump rode into the White House with promises that he would “drain the swamp,” meaning that he would overturn the apple carts of Washington’s vested interests. By unleashing those same vested interests on those who hold them in check – the whistleblowers and those who publish their revelations – he has turned his back on those who elected him.

Julian Assange, along with the whistleblowers who reveal to us the evil that is being done in our name, are heroes. They deserve our respect and admiration, not a prison cell. If we allow this president to declare war on those who tell the truth, we have only ourselves to blame.

Trump’s Neocon Conversion Almost Complete
Kurt Nimmo
http://anotherdayintheempire.com/trumps-neocon-conversion-almost-complete/

Robert Wenzel posted a disturbing development on his blog today.

Bush neocon Paul Wolfowitz has given Trump and his generals the thumbs up.

Wenzel cites Susan Glasser at Politico:

Quote
Iraq might descend into “chaotic violence”—or worse. The broader Middle East could “go to hell” all over again.

If the United States doesn’t step up under President Donald Trump, Paul Wolfowitz warns in a new interview for The Global POLITICO, our weekly podcast on world affairs in the Trump era, it would represent an “opportunity” blown, a missed chance that would result in “lost American influence” and a win for “hostile actors.”

Wolfowitz, a hawkish Republican known as the architect of the Iraq war for his role in advocating President George W. Bush’s 2003 invasion, rarely wades back into the public fray these days over the troubled Middle East, and he insists he’s well aware that the American political consensus—in both parties—is now very much against deepening involvement in the region. “I don’t think we’re up to heroic ventures in the Middle East,” he tells me.

Yet Wolfowitz has not entirely given up on the idea that the United States is essential to stability in a region that has seen very little of it. Without American involvement, for instance, he fears Iraq could splinter apart entirely. “The alternative is to let a very important, critical part of the world go to hell literally and lose American influence,” he says. “We may not like to talk about oil, but this is the engine of the world economy and if it’s dominated by the wrong people, the consequences here in the United States are very serious.”

To liberals and other critics, Wolfowitz would be the last person they want Trump to listen to. Long a lightning rod because of the havoc unleashed by the Iraq invasion, Wolfowitz has never apologized for advocating the war, although he has said—and repeated in our conversation—that it was not carried out as he would have wanted it to be. In recent days he‘s jumped right back into the public debate, nudging President Trump from the pages of the Wall Street Journal to follow up his bombing strike in neighboring Syria with more aggressive action—and, he tells me, privately emailing with Trump Defense Secretary Jim Mattis and national security advisor H.R. McMaster, both longtime contacts since his Bush days, in hopes they will pursue a U.S. strategy of stepped-up engagement in the Middle East. (Emphasis in original.)

Repeat that last sentence and let the reality of it sink in: the war criminal Wolfowitz—who helped start a war based on fabrications and outright lies that ultimately resulted in the murder of over a million people—is in contact with H.R. McMaster and James Mad Dog Mattis.

I sincerely feel sorry for the Trump chumps who naively believed the reality TV show narcissist turned president would end the wars and take America back to the sanity of noninterventionism.

It didn’t take a lot to realize this wouldn’t be the case.

After all, Trump said he would”bomb the shit” out of the Middle East, steal Iraqi and Syrian oil, waterboard and torture terror suspects, kill their families (he has thus far kept the latter promise), and put the neocon killing machine into high gear.

Now team Trump is taking advice from a guy who—in a sane world—would be warming a seat at the Hague.

The genius behind the smash hit  "Art of the Deal" Mr Donald Dunce Trump

Angela Merkel reportedly had to explain the 'fundamentals' of EU trade to Trump 11 times
http://www.businessinsider.com/trump-trade-merkel-germany-eu-2017-4/

President Trump did not understand that the US cannot negotiate a trade deal with Germany alone and must deal with the European Union as a bloc, a senior German official told The Times of London.  "Ten times Trump asked [German chancellor Angela Merkel] if he could negotiate a trade deal with Germany. Every time she replied, 'You can’t do a trade deal with Germany, only the EU,'" the official said.

They continued: "On the eleventh refusal, Trump finally got the message, 'Oh, we’ll do a deal with Europe then.'"

Merkel reportedly told her cabinet members that Trump had "very basic misunderstandings" on the "fundamentals" of the EU and trade.

How Trump gave up on his border wall
By Gareth Icke

https://www.davidicke.com/article/410094/trump-gave-border-wall

‘One reliable way to know that Donald Trump has reversed himself on an issue is if he denies having done any such thing.

The pattern repeats itself: his Administration is dealt a major setback—the courts blocking his travel bans, the G.O.P. health-care bill dying in the House—and Trump responds by decreeing that “great progress” is being made and the media is neglecting to cover it.

Read more: How Trump gave up on his border wall

It’s easy to become inured to how bizarre this is: America has a President who denies observable reality and uses his social-media accounts to feed his supporters an alternate version of the truth. All politicians spin. Trump lies, regularly and brazenly.

Trump the Nationalist Globalist
April 28, 2017
Kurt Nimmo
http://anotherdayintheempire.com/trump-nationalist-globalist/

It’s time for the alt-right, Matt Drudge, Breitbart, Alex Jones, and the rest who put Donald Trump in the White House to answer a simple question.

How can a president be both a nationalist and globalist at the same time?

“Hey, I’m a nationalist and a globalist,” said Trump. “I’m both. And I’m the only one who makes the decision, believe me.”

"I'm a nationalist and a globalist," President Trump told the WSJ on Thursday https://t.co/5Wx5GDFejk

    — Paul Beckett (@paulwsj) April 28, 2017

Trump made this contradictory claim after promising to dump the NAFTA “free trade” agreement that has decimated the industrial base of America and shipped jobs to Mexico, China, and other third world hellholes.

Remember the so-called Carrier deal? Trump used it to say he will save American jobs. It turned out to be a scam. The company was promised a $7-million state tax break from Indiana over 10 years to keep 730 jobs with no guarantee the jobs will be around in a decade. It was billed as a bold move to stop corporations from moving jobs offshore. It’s nothing but a cruel joke.

During the campaign, Trump criticized “a global power structure that is responsible for the economic decisions that have robbed our working class, stripped our country of its wealth and put that money into the pockets of a handful of large corporations and political entities.”

After taking office, Trump staffed his administration with Goldman Sachs banksters and gave his trademark thumbs-up to the export-import bank, which hands over taxpayer money to corporatists so they can sell their products overseas.

Remarkably, some people claimed Trump is a libertarian.

Donald Trump is a classic crony capitalist. We knew this well before the November election. He used state and local governments in New York and Connecticut to get preferential treatment for his business. He even tried to steal land from a widow under the under the guise of “eminent domain.” Trump wanted the state of New York to prevent the construction of a casino because it would have competed with his casino interests.

Trump obviously agrees with John D. Rockefeller, who proclaimed “competition is a sin.”

Trump changes his mind on Export-Import Bank. The crony capitalist president. Boeing and General Electric celebrate. https://t.co/hrsCuNGoyc

    — Kurt Nimmo (@kurt_nimmo) April 13, 2017

Some of us saw this coming. It was obvious from the start the former Democrat and golf buddy of Bill Clinton said whatever came to mind in order to get elected. Like all sociopaths and narcissists, he is a pathological liar. The naivety of those who said he is a champion of the American worker and the little guy is nothing short of astounding.

Trump insisted he is a noninterventionist, and yet after taking office he bombed Iraq and Yemen, killing hundreds. It was obvious he would do this. He said during the campaign he would steal Iraq and Syria’s oil and “bomb the shit” out of the Islamic State. He advocated torture and said the families of suspected terrorists should be killed.

Donald Trump is a liar but then this is normal behavior for the political class. They not only lie to us and we accept it with little complaint, they also engage in psychopathic behavior under the guise of Make America Great Again.

President Trump Now Declares: “I’m a nationalist *and* a globalist”
http://www.ronpaullibertyreport.com/archives/president-trump-now-declares-im-a-nationalist-and-a-globalist
By Melissa Dykes
4/28/2017

Looks like someone came out of the closet…
In his latest Wall Street Journal interview, president Trump has declared that he isn’t just a nationalist…
He’s also a globalist.

Apparently he now admits he’s both.

Yes, just after his dramatic reversal on NAFTA (and NATO), Trump has officially declared himself “also a globalist”. He told the WSJ:

“Hey, I’m a nationalist and a globalist,” President Trump said.
“I’m both. And I’m the only one who makes the decision, believe me.”

Yes… Believe him.

P.S.:
A senior Toronto bank executive told the WSJ that this administrative duplicity on global trade was evident by the calls President Trump’s Chief economic advisor Gary Cohn and his Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin have made  on numerous occasions to senior Canadian business officials in recent weeks, assuring them that no significant changes to NAFTA are expected.

Trump: ‘I’m a Nationalist and a Globalist’
http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2017/04/28/trump-im-a-nationalist-and-a-globalist/
by PENNY STARR
28 Apr 2017

On the eve of the 100 days in office milestone, President Donald Trump claims he is both a nationalist and a globalist — despite campaign promises that his presidency would reject globalism and put America first.
“Hey, I’m a nationalist and a globalist,” Trump told the Wall Street Journal on Thursday. “I’m both.”

“And I’m the only one who makes the decision, believe me,” Trump said.

But Trump also said that he would terminate NAFTA
“if we’re unable to make a deal, but hopefully we won’t have to do that.”

Trump’s remarks come as debate swirls around his presidential campaign promise to end the North America Free Trade Agreement or NAFTA in contrast to his recent assertion that he will “negotiate” a revision of the treaty that has guided U.S. trade policy with Mexico and Canada since 1994.

The Journal reported that Trump received almost back-to-back calls from Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

Following those conversations Trump said, “They’re serious about it and I will negotiate rather than terminate.”

“Meanwhile, Sonny Perdue—the agriculture secretary who took office two days earlier—and Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross met with Mr. Trump and showed him a map indicating the states where jobs would be lost if the pact collapsed, according to a person familiar with the matter,” the Journal reported, noting that many of the states on the map supported Trump in the 2016 presidential election.

“Those conversations, along with a flood of calls to the White House from business executives, helped steer Mr. Trump away from an idea that some of his own advisers feared was a rash and unnecessary threat to two trading partners who fully expected to renegotiate the agreement anyway,” the Journal reported.

“I expect the administration to closely consult with Congress before such major trade-policy decisions are made,” said Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-UT), chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, which oversees trade. “Withdrawing from NAFTA would have significant effects on the America economy.”

Following Trump’s election in November, Chriss Street penned a commentary for Breitbart News focused on how Trump’s “America First” message would strike a blow to “world socialism.”

“The election of Donald Trump now represents an existential threat to World Socialism across the planet,” Street wrote. “Socialists know that when President Reagan went rogue with his muscular capitalist policies, communism quickly imploded. Trump has already torn up the Trans-Pacific Partnership, which would have internationalized the law covering $28 trillion in trade and investment, about 40 percent of global GDP.

“Trump seems determined to destroy “Socialist Globalization” with the same capitalist tax cuts and regulatory relief that President Reagan used to destroy communism,” Street wrote.

In an interview with conservative talk show host Laura Ingraham last month, former presidential candidate and conservative commentator Pat Buchanan said abandoning his populist economic message would be “fatal” for Trump’s presidency.
“He who passively accepts evil is as much involved in it as he who helps to perpetrate it. He who accepts evil without protesting against it is really cooperating with it.”
Martin Luther King Jr.

Trump’s New Sec Of Labor Let “Lolita Express” Billionaire Jeffrey Epstein Off “With a Wrist Slap”
April 29 2017
By Claire Bernish
http://www.activistpost.com/2017/04/trumps-new-sec-labor-let-lolita-express-billionaire-off-wrist-slap.html

Labor Secretary Alexander Acosta, confirmed to the position Thursday by the U.S. Senate, is one in a string of disputed appointees to President Trump’s Cabinet, but this contention doesn’t concern his politics, rather, it’s centered on his lax treatment of billionaire pedophile, Jeffrey Epstein.

And former Green Party candidate and U.S. Representative, Cynthia McKinney, is none too pleased with the confirmation, tweeting shortly after the news,

He let Jeffrey Epstein off pedophilia charges with a wristslap; now he’s Trump’s SecLabor….

He let Jeffrey Epstein off pedophilia charges with a wristslap; now he’s Trump’s SecLabor…. https://t.co/xJzNqldAsQ

    — Cynthia McKinney PhD (@cynthiamckinney) April 28, 2017

McKinney had plenty of company in calling out Acosta’s appointment — weeks ago — but disputation over a shameful plea deal worked for Epstein’s benefit faded significantly from corporate media headlines in recent days.

Perhaps the lecherous and pedophilic behavior for which Epstein earned the consternation of millions once his sexual escapades with minor girls became public knowledge doesn’t so much bother American politicians, whose inappropriate lust was also exposed. Indeed, prior to taking the White House, billionaire Donald Trump dished out praise for Epstein back in 2002, telling New York Magazine for an article, in hindsight, peculiarly titled, “Jeffrey Epstein: International Moneyman of Mystery,”

I’ve known Jeff for 15 years. Terrific guy. He’s a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side. No doubt about it — Jeffrey enjoys his social life.

Not three years later, light began piercing the shadow shielding Epstein’s lascivious escapades from authorities’ watchful eyes, as Newsweek noted,

A Florida mother first brought billionaire Jeffrey Epstein’s peculiar caprices to the attention of Palm Beach police in 2005 when she reported that her teenage daughter had been given $300 at an Epstein party to strip to her underwear and massage the mogul. Eventually, federal investigators and prosecutors built a case against Epstein (who started out as a teacher of seventh graders at a New York private school before striking it rich in finance) that involved 17 witnesses and five other underaged women.

Further, the Post continued,

Although Epstein’s friends and visitors once included past and future presidents, rock stars, and some of the country’s richest men, he is no longer a social magnet. Epstein pleaded guilty to a Florida state charge of felony solicitation of underage girls in 2008 and served a 13-month jail sentence. Politicians who had accepted his donations, including former New Mexico governor Bill Richardson and former New York governor Eliot Spitzer, have scurried to give them back. (Harvard University kept a $6.5 million gift, saying it was ‘funding important research’ in mathematics.)

To say the notorious money-mover and entertainer of the world’s elite liked ‘women’ on ‘the younger side’ utterly dismisses the extent of debauchery which took place at Epstein’s southern Florida home and private access Caribbean island, as noted by staff of a U.S. attorney ten years ago — before that attorney arranged a deal over which criminals of every stripe would drool.

In his tenure as that attorney based in Miami, Acosta bucked recommendations to federally indict Epstein — despite that the now-64-year-old sexually abused no less than 40 girls, most of them aged between 13 and 17 years.

Epstein — had it not been for suspicious wrangling by Trump’s only Latino Cabinet pick — might have been sentenced to life behind bars.

Prosecutors from Acosta’s office, working with the FBI and documented for the court, found that, through assistance from several female assistants, Epstein “would recruit underage females to travel to his home in Palm Beach to engage in lewd conduct in exchange for money … Some went there as much as 100 times or more. Some of the women’s conduct was limited to performing a topless or nude massage while Mr. Epstein masturbated himself. For other women, the conduct escalated to full sexual intercourse.”

Rather than the minimum ten-year sentence the billionaire pedophile faced, attorneys and police were shocked when Acosta’s arrangement with Epstein’s lawyers landed a part-time, eight-hours-per-day county jail term — in essence, downplaying the criminal severity inherent in allegedly having sex with children just beginning to experience the pangs of puberty.

“Acosta also deviated from legal norms when he granted the deal without first notifying the young women who had spoken to investigators about their experiences with the billionaire,” Newsweek reported. “Details of the deal were not made public until a federal judge unsealed it as part of a civil lawsuit brought by four women in 2015.”

Epstein served a mere 13 months total for his crimes.

President Trump: Cancel Your Saudi Trip, Play More Golf
Written by Ron Paul
Sunday May 7, 2017

President Trump is about to embark on his first foreign trip, where he will stop in Saudi Arabia, Israel, and the Vatican, before attending a NATO meeting in Brussels and the G-7 summit in Sicily. The media and pundits have loudly wondered why hasn’t he gone on a foreign trip sooner. I wonder why go at all?

What does the president hope to achieve with these meetings? This is a president who came into office with promises that we would finally start to mind our own business overseas. In December, he said that the policy of US “intervention and chaos” overseas must come to an end. Instead, he is jumping into a region – the Middle East – that has consumed the presidencies of numerous of his predecessors.

On Saudi Arabia, President Trump has shifted his position from criticism of the Saudi regime to a seemingly warm friendship with Saudi deputy crown prince Mohammad bin Salman. He has approved weapons sales to Saudi Arabia that President Obama had halted due to Saudi human rights abuses, particularly in its horrific war on Yemen.

While visiting Saudi Arabia, one of the most extreme theocracies on earth – where conversion to Christianity can bring the death penalty – President Trump will attend a meeting of Muslim leaders to discuss the threats of terrorism and religious extremism. No, not in Saudi Arabia, but in Iran, where Christianity is legal and thriving!

Perhaps President Trump’s flip-flop on Saudi Arabia was inspired by the ten separate Washington, D.C. public relations firms the Kingdom keeps on the payroll, at a cost of $1.3 million per month. That kind of money can really grease the policy wheels in Washington.

From there, the US President will travel to Israel. Does he believe he will finally be able to solve the 70 year old Israel-Palestine conflict by negotiating a good deal? If so, he’s in for a surprise.

The problem persists partly because we have been meddling in the region for so long. Doing more of the same is pretty unlikely to bring about a different result. How many billions have we spent propping up “allies” and bribing others, and we’re no closer to peace now than when we started. Maybe it’s time for a new approach. Maybe it’s time for the countries in the Middle East to solve their own problems. They have much more incentive to reach some kind of deal in their own neighborhood.

Likewise his attendance at the NATO meeting is not very encouraging to those of us who were pleased to hear candidate Trump speak the truth about the outdated military alliance. We don’t need to strong-arm NATO members to spend more money on their own defense. We need to worry about our own defense. Our military empire – of which NATO is an arm – makes us weaker and more vulnerable. Minding our own business and rejecting militarism would make us safer.

Many pundits complain that President Trump spends too much time golfing. I would rather he spend a lot more time golfing and less time trying to solve the rest of the world’s problems. We cannot afford to be the policeman or nursemaid to the rest of the world, particularly when we have such a lousy record of success.

White House erases Trump's call for a Muslim ban from website 'minutes' after reporter brings it up
By Andrew Cheetham on 9 May 2017
https://www.davidicke.com/category/275/political-manipulation

‘References to Donald Trump’s promised “Muslim ban” have been scrubbed from his campaign website minutes after a White House reporter brought them up in a press briefing.

During the briefing ABC’s Cecilia Vega asked Press Secretary Sean Spicer why the Trump campaign website still calls for a “total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States” when the White House has denied that Mr Trump’s executive order to block travel from six Muslim-majority countries is a “Muslim ban”.

“I’m not aware of what’s on the campaign website. You’d have to ask them,” Mr Spicer replied.

Minutes later, the statement in question – which states “Donald J Trump is calling for a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States until our country’s representatives can figure out what is going on” – was gone. Screenshots archived on the WayBack Machine show the page was live as of that morning.’

Trump Meets With Dr Henry Kissinger

Trump Courts Henry Kissinger Again

President Trump’s meeting with arch globalist and major war criminal Henry Kissinger today is another sign he has no intention of draining the proverbial swamp.

Here’s video of President Trump, sitting in the Oval Office with Henry Kissinger, saying he fired Comey because he “wasn’t doing a good job” pic.twitter.com/AbPEPyQsm8

It’s yet another serial betrayal for those who actually believed Trump would come through on his campaign promises, even though he displayed a sort of intellectual schizophrenia on the issues during the election and flip-flopped like a gilled trout after assuming office.

The establishment is dwelling on Trump’s firing of FBI director Comey. It has said virtually nothing about the significance of a photo op meeting with the guy who bombed Hanoi at Christmas, made the genocidal reign of Pol Pot possible, and enabled the brutal dictator Pinochet, to name but three of his crimes.

Henry Kissinger is a Rockefeller crony and a high ranking member of the global elite. How does this sit with Trump’s claim he will fight the establishment?

We can assume Kissinger is tutoring the geopolitical imbecile Trump on the finer points of maintaining and expanding the empire via cruise missile.

Trump wants you to know he is taking advice from the globalists. That’s why he had Henry there slouched in a chair while he gave monosyllable responses to the media.

‘Idiot, clown and embarrassment’: New poll shows falling ratings & scathing attitudes to Trump
https://www.rt.com/usa/387929-trump-ratings-quinnipiac-poll/

The results of a recently released survey of American voters show President Donald Trump’s approval rating plummeting as his opponents use some choice expressions to describe their commander-in-chief.

The results of the survey, conducted by the Connecticut-based Quinnipiac University, show that, “idiot, incompetent and liar” were the most commonly given answers when respondents were asked for the first word that comes to mind when they think about President Trump.

In fact, of the top 20 most given words, only four (strong, great, successful and leader) were positive and four (president, businessman, business and trying) were neutral.

Other less-than-flattering descriptors were “buffoon, con-man, clown, narcissistic, bigot and embarrassment.”

The poll also showed Trump’s popularity drop to near-record lows, with only 36 percent of voters approving of the way Trump is handling his job as President, compared to 58 percent disapproving.

Trump’s fall in popularity even affected his key support base, which fell 10 points from 57 percent to 47 percent since the last time the question was posed in April.

“There is no way to spin or sugarcoat these sagging numbers,” said Tim Malloy, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Poll, in a statement.

“The erosion of white men, white voters without college degrees and independent voters, the declaration by voters that President Donald Trump’s first 100 days were mainly a failure and deepening concerns about Trump's honesty, intelligence and level headedness are red flags that the administration simply can't brush away,” Malloy added.

Additionally, by a 54-38 percent margin, the voters polled also wanted the Democratic Party to win control of the US House of Representatives, the widest margin ever measured for this question in a Quinnipiac University poll (which leaned 5 percent in favor of Republicans in 2013).

The University interviewed 1,078 voters across the United States by phone between May 4 and May 9, with a margin of error of ± 3 percentage points.
