Funny, I don't remember seeing this amount of outrage about the government burning alive and gassing to death the children at Waco in my research. Imagine what those children sounded like while screaming in pain and agony because of what the federal government did to them, in the name of the children. Anyway, now Trump has signed an executive order 'putting families back together again.' Although I'm not sure what exactly it says yet because I can't find the text. The White House has only released what Trump said and not the text.

The ACLU is arguing that Trump has effectively jailed the children to appease the screaming bloodthirsty bleeding hearts. That means they can't be held longer than 20 days once they're put with their parents. This presents a problem and of course the socialists in this country can never be satisfied. I wonder how much longer we're gonna have to hear about 'baby jails' and children crying for their mothers because their parents put their own family in this position.

ACLU Statement on Proposed Trump Executive Order on Family Separation

June 20, 2018

Quote
NEW YORK – In response to reports that President Trump will issue an executive order on family separation, Anthony D. Romero, executive director of the American Civil Liberties Union, offered the following reaction:

“President Trump has been brought to his knees because of the lawsuit we filed on February 26 and the ensuing public outcry. Kids should not have been separated from their parents in the first place and they still don’t belong in jail. His alleged solution to a crisis of his own making is many months too late. It is a crisis that should not have happened to begin with. He has caused irreparable damage to thousands of immigrant families.

“The devil is in the details. This crisis will not abate until each and every single child is reunited with his or her parent. An eleventh-hour executive order doesn’t fix the calamitous harm done to thousands of children and their parents. This executive order would replace one crisis for another. Children don’t belong in jail at all, even with their parents, under any set of circumstances. If the president thinks placing families in jail indefinitely is what people have been asking for, he is grossly mistaken.”

Socialist Activist Who Harassed Homeland Security Secretary Works For The Department Of Justice

One of the activists who chased Homeland Security Kirstjen Nielsen out of a Mexican restaurant Tuesday night over the Trump administration’s immigration policies is an employee of the Department of Justice, The Daily Caller News Foundation has confirmed.

Members of the Washington, D.C., chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America crashed Nielsen’s meal with a demonstration full of chants and other outbursts.

One of those participants, Allison Hrabar, actually works for the Trump administration — as a paralegal in the DOJ.

McCarthy was right. Gotta love how this woman cites her 1st Amendment right.

The media rarely talks about why people are fleeing South America and coming to US.  Decades of the war to control the drug trade, overthrowing  democratic governments and propping up dictators in South America is signficiant factor in this immigration crisis.  A lot of politicians grandstanding and media personalities crying  but they are silent while military industrial complex continues to fund, train and assist in the destabilization and death.

The Salvador Option: the US is Once Again Supporting Death Squads in Central America

The United States has been quietly funding and equipping elite paramilitary police units in El Salvador accused of extrajudicially murdering suspected gang members, according to a forthcoming United Nations report reviewed in advance by CNN.

Beginning with George W. Bush in 2003, successive US administrations have provided tens of millions of dollars in aid for Salvadoran military and police in support of the government’s “Mano Dura” (“Firm Hand”) security program, an aggressive campaign to combat out-of-control gang violence in a country with one of the world’s highest homicide rates.

“Mano Dura” aid increased significantly during the Obama administration, which compared the effort to Plan Colombia, the decades-long anti-drug campaign in which billions of US aid dollars funded mafia-like army units that, along with allied paramilitary death squads, kidnapped, tortured and murdered thousands of innocent civilians with impunity. As was the case with Plan Colombia, the new UN report will accuse Salvadoran security forces, in this case some of its elite police units, of “a pattern of behavior by security personnel amounting to extrajudicial executions” and a “cycle of impunity” in which such killings go unpunished.
One police unit, the Special Reaction Forces (FES), killed 43 suspected gang members during the first half of 2017, according to the UN report. While FES officers were executing suspects in the streets, the US government continued to fund and equip the unit. Washington’s total assistance increased from $67.9 million in 2016 to $72.7 million last year. The deportation of members of MS-13 — formed in Los Angeles by young Salvadoran refugees fleeing civil war in a homeland ruled by a US-backed military dictatorship — and other gangs has further exacerbated the crisis.

A spokesman for the US Embassy in San Salvador assured CNN that “the US government takes allegations of extrajudicial killings extremely seriously,” that it has “consistently expressed concerns” regarding human rights abuses and that it heavily vets units receiving aid. These assurances ring hollow to many Salvadorans who recall how the Ronald Reagan administration covered up horrific human rights violations in order to keep military aid flowing to the anti-communist military regime during the 1980s civil war.

That aid, which included forming, training, funding and arming military death squads, began during the Carter administration and dramatically increased under Reagan. Officers, troops and police were trained in kidnapping, torture, assassination and democracy suppression at the US Army School of the Americas (SOA), also known as the School of Coups and School of Assassins because it produced so many of both.

I enjoyed the Nielsen confrontation, and it made me think of Fight Club - I mean, what are the chances that Nielsen got 'clean food' at this Mexican restaurant..
On the wider scandal, this is actually very damaging and the fallout is still mounting and will be long lasting.
