Poseidon won that one.

Tsunamis are a consistent nightmare for me. I can't imagine the terror that thing brought. It still shocks me to watch the videos from that day.

There was a time in my life when I consistently had a dream involving a tsunami.

I was in a hotel on the ocean
looking out at the sea through a large plate glass window.
As the wave moved closer and closer,
I realized the futility of running and waited to be washed into the sea.

I thought that it might have been a memory of the time when I was a child
swimming in the Atlantic at Rockaway Beach at Long Island, NY.
I was body surfing but could not escape tumbling over and over again.
I truly thought that I was going to die.

Thankfully, I have not had that dream for many years.
I would wake up in a sweat.
???

But I still love the ocean.
